  • Patent number: 4425729
Abstract: The invention is concerned with a construction of a rod holder fixing means comprising a rod holder and a cylinder detachably pivoted thereon, wherein a spacer is suspended on a side of the cylinder, and adapted to be adjustably pressed against the inside of a rod hole by screwably moving a bolt through the cylinder so that the means is slidably insertible into any rod hole regardless of the diameter, position and inclination thereof with respect to the gunnel surface of a fishing boat and fixedly mountable on or above the gunnel regardless of the width and shape thereof.

  • Patent number: 4408379
Abstract: The method for producing an aluminum wheel rim comprises axially pressing a thin walled cylindrical aluminum or aluminum alloy material under the action of compressive stress acting thereon through tapered portions of a die and a punch cooperating therewith in a press machine so that the diameter of the material is enlarged so as to form the required configuration of the rim, while the wall thickness of the material is increased at positions where compressive stress is applied through the tapered portions of the die and the punch thereby increasing the mechanical strength of the material at positions where otherwise weakening tends to occur due to the thinning of the wall thickness of the material by the roll working thereof. In order to successfully carry out the method, it is preferred to select the ratio H/D of the height H of the material with respect to the inner diameter D thereof to be equal to or less than 1.

  • Patent number: 4406083
Abstract: A crab catcher comprises a net attached to the lower ends of four arms which are pivoted near their upper ends on a ring having a cross-bar. A second ring engages upper ends of the arms in set condition to hold them in and thereby spread the lower ends of the arms out to spread the net. A vertical bait bar is pivoted on the cross-bar of the first ring and has a barbed lower end to hold the bait. The upper end of the bait bar has an eye which is releasably hooked onto a weighted hook on a line which is attached with slack to the bait bar and also to the second ring. A float ring has a central opening receiving upper ends of the arms. A tiltable washer on the bait bar is engageable with points projecting into the central opening of the float ring to retain the float ring until the bait bar is moved in any direction, whereupon the float ring is released and rises to the water surface.

  • Patent number: 4387494
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a simulated wire wheel cover is disclosed which utilizes an integral array of spokes to provide the structural support for the other members. The spoke array is composed of a plurality of interconnected spoke members. A central hub member is then fastened to the central portion of the spoke array. A circular rim member engages and is held in position by the outer ends of the spokes in the spoke array. The rim member is provided with integral retention means for retaining the wheel cover on the vehicle wheel.

  • Patent number: 4383571
Abstract: An elongated dummy bar has one end secured to a closure plug arranged within an open ended, continuous casting mold for supporting the plug within the mold and for endwise movement for removing the plug from the mold and guiding it along a curved path away from the mold. Molten metal cast in the mold forms a continuous cast strand whose lead end joins to the closure plug so that endwise movement of the bar and plug guides the cast strand along the curved path. The bar is formed of parallel rows, of rigid links which are arranged end to end. Pivot pins transversely extend across all the rows between the adjacent ends of the links. The pins are pivotally journalled within opposing sockets formed in the facing ends of adjacent links in each row. Flexible cables are arranged between and parallel to the rows of links and pass through openings extending diametrically through the pins.
