Abstract: First statistical data and at least second statistical data can be received from respective data processing systems, the statistical data received from each data processing system indicating a respective duration of time for the data processing system to perform a task. A progress profile for the task can be updated by conglomerating the first statistical data with at least the second statistical data. A request indicating the task can be received from a third data processing system. In response, the progress profile can be communicated to the third data processing system. The third data processing system can present on a display a progress bar and indicate status of completion of the task by reiteratively updating the progress bar. The status of completion can be determined based on a duration of time expected for the task indicated in the progress profile and an amount of time that has elapsed.

Abstract: A system enables universal remote media control across multiple platforms, devices, and users. A protocol allows a cast controller to have access to media operations and a state(s) associated with media content. The system receives commands from a cast controller, provides the commands to a media player, loads new media content into the media player, based on the commands, and receives state notifications from the media player. Another cast controller can receive the state notifications from the media player and control the media player based on the media operations and state(s) associated with media content.

Abstract: Techniques are described for modifying a virtual reality environment to include or remove contextual information describing a virtual object within the virtual reality environment. The virtual object includes a user interface object associated with a development user interface of the virtual reality environment. In some cases, the contextual information includes information describing functions of controls included on the user interface object. In some cases, the virtual reality environment is modified based on a distance between the location of the user interface object and a location of a viewpoint within the virtual reality environment. Additionally or alternatively, the virtual reality environment is modified based on an elapsed time of the location of the user interface object remaining in a location.

Abstract: An apparatus for display content on a touch panel includes a detecting unit that detects a touchdown to touch the touch panel and a touchup to lift off from the touch panel to cancel touching, and a menu display control unit that performs control to display menu if the touchup is detected after the touchdown is detected within a display region of the content.

Abstract: In a synchronization system, the present invention provides an improved user interface through which a user can view and manage settings associated with the user's account in the synchronization system. In the preferred embodiment, a column is displayed for each electronic device associated with the user's account in the synchronization system. In each column is a visual representation of items (e.g., folders) that are (1) backed up, remotely accessible and/or synchronized in the synchronization system and (2) located on the electronic device associated with such column. For each item that is synchronized across multiple devices, all the visual representations of such item in the columns are aligned across a single row in the interface. In the preferred embodiment, there is an arrow, or other visual indicator, between the visual representations of such items to indicate that the items are synchronized.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for creating and disseminating of audio and video content generated by a user over a network. In one aspect of the present disclosure, a request to create audio content over a network is received. In another aspect of the present disclosure a request to create multimedia content comprising audio and video content over a network is received. One embodiment includes presenting the user with a plurality of compositions, receiving a request from the user to add a specific composition, presenting a lyric using text submitted by the user, recording an audio recording generated by the user, wherein the specific composition is playing during the recording of the audio recording, and providing editing capability to the specific composition, the song lyric and audio recording.

Abstract: A method and apparatus (e.g., network test instrument) for presenting network device diagnostic information in which a listing of network devices discovered via a first network connection (e.g., wirelessly—802.11) to a test network is presented in a GUI of a network diagnostic instrument. Acquired network diagnostic information for a network device selected from the listing of network devices is then presented in the GUI wherein the presented network diagnostic information is acquired via the first network connection (e.g., wirelessly—802.11). Indication (and a link thereto) is provided in the GUI indicating network diagnostic information for the selected network device was also acquired via a second network connection to the test network (e.g., via a wired connection—802.3).

Abstract: In one embodiment, a client system receives a request to access a user interface element in a virtual reality environment for an application and generates the user interface element in the virtual reality environment. The user interface element at the generated position occludes a portion of the application. The client system detects an input to move the user interface element from one position in the virtual reality environment to another position in the virtual reality environment relative to a display region of the application and stores position data associated with the other position of the virtual reality environment in a position database. The position data is associated with the application. The client system receives another request to access the user interface element in the virtual reality environment for the application and generates the user interface element in the virtual reality environment based on the position data associated with the application.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and media for specifying different content management techniques across various publishing platforms are provided. In some embodiments, the method comprises: receiving information about content placements; generating a user interface that includes the information and selectable content management options; receiving a selection of a first content management option for a first content placement; configuring a tag for the first content placement, wherein the tag is associated with instructions for executing the first content management option; receiving, from a web browser that loaded a web page including the first content placement, a request for the instructions for executing the first content management option; and sending the instructions to the web browser to execute the instructions and send information about the web page to a location indicated by the instructions.

Abstract: Systems and methods for managing visual allocation are provided herein that use models to determine states based on visual data and, based thereon, output feedback based on the determined states. Visual data is initially obtained by a visual allocation management system. The visual data includes eye image sequences of a person in a particular state, such as engaging in a task or activity. Visual features can be identified from the visual data, such that glance information including direction and duration can be calculated. The visual data, information derived therefrom, and/or other contextual data is input into the models, which correspond to states, to calculate probabilities that the particular state that the person is engaged in is one of the modeled states. Based on the state identified as having the highest probability, an optimal feedback, such as a warning or instruction, can be output to a connected devices, systems, or objects.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to computational devices and gesture recognition. A computational device may include instructions that determine, based on a parameterization for a portion of a symbol, complete predicted symbols. The complete predicted symbols may be used as an input for an application operating on the computational device.

Abstract: Techniques for generation of user interfaces include accessing data indicative of a plurality of values and including a subset of the values in a user interface. The subset may be selected based on user input or the characteristics of the device for which the user interface is generated. Each user interface is associated with a device characteristic, such as the size or shape of a display area or the presence of an audio output device, and the characteristics of the user interface may be determined based in part on the device characteristics. When a request from a user device is received, correspondence between the device characteristics of the user device and the device characteristics associated with the user interfaces is used to determine which interface to provide to the user device. Changes to values in a first user interface are included in other user interfaces accessed using other devices.

One example method includes presenting a frame on a user interface to present information in a selectable format. Another example method includes using a circuit device to detect selection of a frame as displayed and causing display of further graphical information in an un-selectable format.

Abstract: A finger-mapped gesture system is a user interface method and apparatus for rapid data input on a touch-sensitive surface. The user gestures by holding the hand stationary relative to the surface and moving the fingers primarily by extension and flexion on the surface. Each finger gestures on a gesturing area instead of selecting among keys. Individual gestures are constructed from finger actions that each independently parameterize the gesture. In combination, the particular fingers gesturing and the parameters that the fingers gesture indicate the input that the user intends. On devices that do not directly identify fingers, fingers are identified via a finger map that, after calibration to a person's hand, associates each finger with a gesturing area. Gestures are otherwise independent of where they are performed, freeing users from having to look at their fingers to target visual elements. The system is optimized for rapid character data entry.

Abstract: Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure describe processing via an extension of a web browser application. A processing device, for example, may provide a web browser application that comprises an extension enabling an application service to interface with the web browser application. Input may be received in a uniform resource locator (URL) bar of the web browser application. A search of an application service may be launched directly from the URL bar based on the received input. The processing device may retrieve results from the application based on the searching. The retrieved results may be displayed within the URL bar on a display connected with the processing device. Abstract: Embodiments include method, systems and computer program for providing improved navigational functionality in a web browser. Aspects include storing a browsing history comprising a sequence of websites and webpages visited by the web browser and providing a graphical user interface (GUI) configured to control a traversal of the browsing history by the web browser. Based on receiving a previous webpage command from the GUI, aspects include returning the web browser to a most recently visited webpage from the browsing history. Based on receiving a previous website command from the GUI, aspects include returning the web browser to a most recently visited website from the browsing history. The most recently visited website is associated with a different domain name than a currently displayed webpage.

Abstract: A method for selecting at least one element of a Graphical User Interface (GUI), displayed on a display of a device using a touch interface of the device. The method includes: detecting on the touch interface a double touch input, the double touch input including a first and second touch inputs on the touch interface, the first and second touch inputs respectively corresponding to a first location and a second location on the GUI; determining a selection location between the first and second locations; upon detecting a release of the first touch input, determining a first selection location corresponding to the selection location at the moment of the release of the first touch input, determining a second selection location on the GUI as defined by a user using the touch interface; and executing a selection of at least one GUI element located between the first and second selection locations.

Abstract: A wearable computing device includes a head-mounted display (HMD) that generates a virtual reality environment. Through the generation and tracking of positional data, a focal point may be tracked with respect to one or menu navigation elements. Following the fixated positioning of the focal point over the menu navigation element for a predetermined amount of time, a process corresponding to the menu navigation element is executed.
