  • Patent number: 7703986
Abstract: In a synthetic resin retainer formed by joining together two annular members by engaging claws of each annular member in engaging holes of the annular member, each of the two annular members 1 has a plurality of hemispherical pockets 4 formed in a side surface thereof to be brought into abutment with the side surface of the other annular member at circumferentially equal intervals. Joint portions are provided between the adjacent pockets 4, and each is provided with an engaging hole 5 and an engaging claw 6. The engaging claws 6 and engaging holes 5 are configured such that gaps are present between the engaging claws 6 and the engaging holes 5 in the initial stage of assembly of the retainer, and the gaps decrease to zero or less upon completion of the assembly of the retainer, thereby preventing wear of the engaging portions of the engaging claws for joining the annular members together.

  • Patent number: 7673537
Abstract: A manipulator for supporting and displacing an object comprises a base. A moving portion supports the object. Two articulated mechanisms each having five rotational joints between links, with each articulated mechanism being connected to the base by two of the rotational joints. The moving portion is connected to both the articulated mechanisms by moving-portion joints. The articulated mechanisms and moving-portion joints are arranged with respect to each other between the base and the moving portion so as to constrain movement of the moving portion to displacements in two translational degrees of freedom and two rotational degrees of freedom with respect to the base. Four actuators are each operatively connected to a different one of the rotational joints between the base and the articulated mechanisms so as to selectively control the displacements of the moving portion in any one of the four degrees of freedom of the moving portion.

  • Patent number: 7661330
Abstract: A rotational torque of an electric motor of a starter is transmitted to an output shaft having a pinion gear engaging with a ring gear of an internal combustion engine via a one-way clutch. A tube forming a clutch-inner and the output shaft are spline-coupled to allow the output shaft to reciprocally move in the axial direction while transmitting the rotational torque of the tube to the output shaft. The output shaft is slidably supported by a supporting portion formed at a front end of the tube. To establish air communication between an inside space of the tube and an outside space, an air passage is formed either in the supporting portion or on the output shaft. Pressure changes in the inner space due to reciprocal movement of the output shaft are suppressed by air communication through the air passage, and lubricant in the tube is well retained therein.

  • Patent number: 7648281
Abstract: A fluid dynamic bearing is provided. A structure in which a shaft member and an annular member fitted about the shaft member are rotatably supported by a bearing member and an annular member on the bearing member has a fifth gap for storing a lubricating fluid and supplying it to a second gap below the annular member on the shaft member and a third gap around its outer periphery through a fourth gap. The fourth and fifth gaps are tapered to produce a capillary drawing force toward the third and second gaps, so that the lubricating fluid may be supplied effectively from the fifth gap to the second and third gaps. This makes it possible to suppress any sudden formation of a reduced pressure upon exposure to impact or vibration to prevent the leakage of any lubricating fluid caused by the generation of bubbles, while making up for the loss of any lubricating fluid by vaporization.

  • Patent number: 7645073
Abstract: A hydrodynamic bearing device which realizes power saving, reduction of a time period necessary for stabilizing rotation, and enhancement in durability to startup and halting of the motor at the same time by accelerating circulation of a lubricant in the vicinity of a flange with torque loss being kept low is provided. A flange (3) is fixed to one end of a shaft (2). On an inner surface of one of openings of a sleeve (1), a step portion (1C) is provided. When the shaft (2) is inserted into the sleeve (1), the flange (3) is in close vicinity to the step portion (1C). An inner diameter of the step portion (1C) is smaller in end portions in an axial direction than in a central portion. Thus, a gap between an outer surface (3C) of the flange (3) and a surface of the step portion (1C) which opposes the outer surface (3C) is narrow in the vicinity of boundaries of the outer surface (3C) of the flange (3) than in the vicinity the central portion.

In the rim-shaped section, a section from a teeth section connecting section of the web to an outer end of the ring-shaped rim-shaped section is connected to an outer circumferential surface of the boss by a plurality of first radial direction ribs. In the rim-shaped section, a section from the teeth section connecting section of the web to a tooth-width-direction center section is connected to an outward-radial-direction end of second radial direction ribs. The first and the second radial direction ribs are formed thinner than the web and the ring-shaped rim-shaped section.
