Abstract: A method of displaying media content through a user interface of a communication device using an Activity-based Overlay technique. The method includes detecting a first user interaction with a user interface and responsively initiating a timer, the timer being configured to expire upon elapsing of a predefined delay period. An Overlay containing the media content is then rendered on a display of the user interface. The method further includes monitoring, during the predefined delay period, the operating system in order to detect a second user interaction with the user interface. Upon expiration of the timer, it is determined whether a detection of the second user interaction with the user interface occurred during the predefined delay period. A backing Activity associated with the Overlay is then invoked based upon this determination.

Abstract: This disclosure describes embodiments of systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable storage media that can display icons for target digital content items and candidate destination folders within different sections of a multi-section graphical user interface (GUI) and adjust a corresponding file storage structure to reflect organization changes indicated by user interactions that move digital-content-items icons into folder icons. For example, the disclosed system can (i) display, within a first section of a multi-section GUI, icons representing digital content items and (ii) display, within a second section of the multi-section GUI, icons representing folders as candidate destination folders. Then, the disclosed systems can detect user interactions that move digital-content-item icons to folder icons and adjust an underlying file storage structure to reflect the organization indicated by the user interaction.

The system displays a graphical user interface, including a schema region with data field icons representing data fields from a data source and a canvas region displaying a data visualization having visual marks representing data according to visual properties. A user associates a data field icon, representing a data field, with a visual property of the visual marks. In response, the system modifies the data visualization so that the visual property of each visual mark is displayed according to data values of the data field. A user associates a second data field icon, representing a second data field, with a second visual property of the visual marks. The second visual property specifies a nonstop animation format. In response, the system modifies the data visualization to animate the visual marks according to the second visual property and data values for the second data field.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for sharing of collaborative documents with users via instant messaging. In one aspect, a collaborative application is configured to display one or more user interfaces associated with a collaborative application that allows a user to engage in a real-time chat between and among one or more users. The collaborative application may also present one or more user interfaces that allow the user to select one or more references of collaborative documents stored at a remote document datastore, and then share these references of collaborative documents with one or more users in the real-time chat. In one example, these references may be represented in real-time chat as a user interface element that visually present the collaborative document title and associated collaborative document pictogram or icon.

Abstract: The operation of an automatic data input and query system is controlled by well-defined control data. The system exposes user interfaces enabling an administrator to interact with control data to modify the ongoing operation of the system. Certain control data determines the collection and treatment of data from various technology sources. A robust control interface is provided enabling the efficient and reliable adding on of new technology data sources. Once established, control data for a new technology data source may be packaged in a form for archiving or distribution. The system may support the export and import of such packages. Such packages may be created independently of the system.

Abstract: The disclosed system and method enable multiple user devices to track the read/unread status of received messages, even though the user reads the message on only one device. A server of a telecommunication network can receive, from a user device associated with a sender, a message sent to a recipient. The user device does not communicate to the server that the received message has been read. Upon receiving the message, the server can determine that the message is in reply to a message thread and can update a status of a second message in the message thread to the read status. The second message is the most recent message in the message thread sent by the recipient to the sender. The server can provide the updated status of the second message in the message thread to the multiple user devices associated with the sender.

Abstract: A UI for presenting and reviewing a document is optimized based upon the type of computing device being utilized to present the document. One such UI includes a first pane showing a view of the document under review that is sized and formatted for display on a large-format display device. The first pane can also be utilized to emphasize a portion of the document. The UI also includes a second pane that includes indicators for each of the reviewers of the document. The selection of an indicator will cause a portion of the document being reviewed by the corresponding reviewer to be displayed in the first pane. The UI also includes a third pane that includes a scaled image of the document shown in the first pane. Selection of a portion of the scaled image causes the selected portion of the document to be displayed in the first pane.

Each region can be associated with a different data source and can present objects based upon logical representations stored in an associated data source. Logical representations of objects in a region can include links to other objects in other regions associated with other data sources. When an object is moved between regions, transformations can be applied to the logical representation associated with the object. If the object is linked to other objects, the transformation can be propagated to the logical representations of the linked objects. In this manner, a single movement of an object between regions in a template can result in the updating of multiple objects and associated data sources, the updating of the visual properties of objects in multiple regions, and updating the visual properties of the regions themselves.

Abstract: A press and hold function for conducting online surveys with a respondent in order to obtain genuine responses to the online surveys is presented herein. A user interface associated with an online survey is presented to the respondent on a screen of a computing device. The online survey can include a set of questions. Each question of the online survey can include a set of response elements. Each of these response elements can be associated with one or more response duration. In order to select a response to a question, the respondent can press a response button that is associated with one or more response elements to that question. The respondent then holds the response button for the response duration associated with the response element. After the response duration is complete, the response associated with the response element is deemed to be the response of the respondent.

Abstract: A method includes detecting control of an active content creation tool of an interactive computing system in response to a user input received at a user interface of the interactive computing system. The method also includes automatically updating a video search query based on the detected control of the active content creation tool to include context information about the active content creation tool. Further, the method includes performing a video search of video captions from a video database using the video search query and providing search results of the video search to the user interface of the interactive computing system.
