Abstract: In a device (1) for making a beverage on the basis of interaction between a beverage extract and an extracting fluid, which comprises an openable and closeable chamber (50) for receiving and accommodating a quantity of the beverage extract, and heating/cooling means (30) for setting the temperature of the extracting fluid, arranged upstream of the chamber (50), a beverage making process can be performed with extracting fluid that is exactly at a desired temperature. During heat-up or cool-down phases of the heating/cooling means (30), the extracting fluid is transported to another position than the chamber (50) where the beverage making process is supposed to take place. Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are wire feeders and wire feeder cable connections which include a power block portion, a cable connection portion and a liner guide assembly portion. The liner guide assembly portion and power block portion are structured and assembly so that a liner guide can be removed from a welding cable from inside the wire feeder, without removing the cable connector from the wire feeder.

Abstract: Disclosed are methods, systems, and devices for portably brewing tea, coffee, or other beverages in a container that regulates the temperature and diffusion during and after brewing. For example, the present technology allows people to prepare and consume tea, coffee and other beverages while on the go. In some aspects, a portable brewing device includes a container having a specialized canister system in the interior of the container that encloses the beverage material and controls the diffusion of water in/out of the canister; an intelligent heating and cooling system to continuously regulate the temperature of water in the device; and a data processing unit in communication with the canister and heating and cooling systems to control operational features and store user-specialized settings for the device.

Abstract: A containing assembly for a food product for use as a culinary tool to assist in preventing thermal injury to a user while inserting and retrieving the food product from a toaster slot, the assembly including a support assembly defining a basket for receiving and retaining the food product, and having a support frame with a u-shaped bar with two side bars and a base bar and two articulating side walls coupled to the bottom of the support frame, the rotatable side wall rotates about an axis proximate the bottom of the support frame. A stop restricts the outward rotation of the rotatable side wall at a predefined open position. A handle is fixedly coupled to one of the two side bars of the support frame and configured for inserting and retrieving the support assembly from the toaster slot with a single user hand.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for cooking food on a grill having opposed upper and lower platens wherein a gap spacing between the platens is automatically adjusted in an initial stage and in subsequent stages of the cooking time for the food. The food is caused to be located between two opposed platens, the opposed platens each having opposed cooking surfaces and the opposed cooking surfaces defining a gap spacing that is adjustable. A controller and drive mechanism adjust the gap spacing between the platens so that during an initial stage of the cooking the gap spacing is equal to or less than the nominal initial uncooked thickness of the food, and during one or more subsequent stages of the cooking, after the initial stage, the gap spacing between the platens is varied.

When converting a fixed format document to a flow format document, footnotes, which may include a footnote description and a footnote reference mark, may be detected and linked with a corresponding footnote reference mark in a main document flow on a page. Additionally, a footnote numbering scheme may be determined and applied to detected footnotes. By providing footnote detection when converting a fixed format document to a flow format document, footnotes may be statically positioned at the end of a page containing the corresponding footnote reference mark.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide techniques for enhancing presentation system animations by applying motion blur to animated objects within a presentation system. Clipping the blur effect to particular regions may increase efficiencies over calculations of motion blur across an entire screen. Further, in certain embodiments, the motion blur may be calculated and presented on a per-object basis. Accordingly, relational objects (e.g., objects seemingly inside other objects and/or overlapping or crossing objects) may each have their own blur effect without impacting the other objects' blur effects.

Abstract: A microwave heating system configured to heat a plurality of articles is provided. The microwave heating system includes a microwave splitter, a pair of microwave launchers, and at least one inductive iris disposed between the splitter and the launch opening of one of the launchers. A microwave launcher suitable for use in such a heating system is also provided. The launcher includes an inductive iris disposed within the interior of the launcher, spaced between its inlet and outlet and obstructing at least a portion of the microwave pathway.

Provisions are made for scraping from the solid belt, removing from the food products and recycling excess coating material.
