Abstract: A method for playing music includes identifying a plurality of users of a corresponding plurality of electronic devices that are currently located within a selected area, retrieving music listening data for the plurality of users, building a playlist for the selected area based on the music listening data, filtering the playlist according to at least one host preference to produce a filtered playlist, and playing the filtered playlist within the selected area. The selected area may be a geo-fenced area. Examples of host preferences include genre, artist, tempo, mood and demographic. The playlist may include songs that are commonly selected by the plurality of users or conform to genres commonly preferred by the plurality of users. A corresponding system and computer program product for executing the above method are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A method and system of correlating annotations of media files. A first media file is received from a first media recording device. A file record for the first media file is created in the file table. A determination is made whether the first media file belongs to an existing matter group. Upon determining that the first media file belongs to an existing matter group: the file record is related with the existing matter group in the file table; annotations of the first media file that are flagged to be shared, are related to all media files of the existing matter group; and annotations of all the media files of the existing matter group to the first media file are related. Upon determining that the first media file does not belong to an existing matter group, a new matter group is created for the first media file in the matter table of the central server.

Abstract: Embodiments for managing metadata in a high density network attached storage system. A change file list is obtained though external or internal crawler processes. A slicer creates multiple slices of the entire fileshare to enable parallel backup of the slices. A backup engine creates a separate backup containers and separate metadata files for each slice. The individual metadata files are combined into a single consolidated metadata file, and the individual metadata files are then deleted. The consolidated metadata file contains all of the elements comprising the entire fileshare, and a corresponding container ID is also added to each entry of the file. Another table contains details of the sub-assets and their backup properties. A backup agent obtains the backup IDs for the individual sub-assets, using a job ID field for a backup query operating on the single consolidated metadata file.

The aspects generally relate to providing related content items to a particular user across multiple different user devices, such as mobile devices, tablet computers, desktop computers, and televisions. The selection of the content items for a particular user and the device to which the content items are to be sent are based one or more of the following factors: user history data, subject matter category duration, frequency duration adjustment, behavioral duration adjustment, and device prioritization.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a computer-implemented method, a computer program product, and a system for storing data based, at least partially, on the deduplication rates of a storage system within a storage environment. The computer-implemented method includes receiving data to be stored in a storage environment, computing a hash for the received data, and querying storage deduplication agents for statuses of storage systems within the storage environment. The computer-implemented method also includes receiving deduplication rates and hash tables relating to the storage systems from the storage deduplication agents. The computer-implemented method further includes analyzing stored data stored on the storage systems using the deduplication rates and the hash tables and comparing the stored data to the received data.

Abstract: Techniques for streamlined database migration with stored procedure extraction into on-demand execution environments are described. A stored procedure of a first database is obtained and a code segment corresponding to the stored procedure is deployed as a function of an on-demand code execution service. A client application may directly execute the stored procedure by issuing a call to the on-demand code execution service to invoke the function, or by issuing a request to execute the stored procedure that is intercepted by a database proxy, which services the request by invoking the function on the client application's behalf.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for providing frameworks for data source representation and compression using an index file format are disclosed herein. The index file format separate information about symbols in a data file and information about the corresponding location of those symbols in the data file. The described techniques provide mechanisms for reducing the size associated with the representation of the symbols information and/or the size associated with the representation of the location information.

A capacity value of the file system may be provided based on a storage size of the objects. A threshold value may be determined based on the capacity value and a metric partition count. Traversals of the file system may determine metric partitions such that each metric partition may be associated with some objects Metrics associated with activities that are associated with the file system may be monitored. Metric partition values may be determined based on metric values associated with the metric partitions such that each metric partition value may be based on a portion of the metric values associated with a portion of the activities associated with a corresponding metric partition. Visualizations may be generated based on the metric partition values.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for elimination of log file synchronization delay at transaction commit time is provided. One or more change records corresponding to a database transaction are generated. One or more buffer entries comprising the one or more change records are entered into a persistent change log buffer. A commit operation is performed by generating a commit change record corresponding to the database transaction and entering a commit buffer entry comprising the commit change record into the persistent change log buffer. The commit operation returns without waiting for the commit change record to be recorded in a change record log file.

Abstract: A method for generating a searchable file from a document. The method includes identifying an object within the document and a formatting attribute of the object, determining an inferred semantic characteristic of the object by comparing the formatting attribute with a plurality of inference rules, wherein the inferred semantic characteristic comprises an estimation of author-defined semantic characteristic of the object, generating metadata based at least on the inferred semantic characteristic and the formatting attribute of the object, wherein the metadata comprises text data that is searchable by a search application for the searchable file to identify the object within the searchable file, and generating, based on the document, the searchable file comprising the metadata.

Abstract: A collaborative content management system allows for the mutual-synchronization of content within a spreadsheet and within a document in which a set of spreadsheet cells are embedded. When a user modifies the embedded set of cells, the spreadsheet is updated to reflect the modification. A set of tasks, for instance each associated with descriptive text and one or more interactive elements, can be incorporated into a set of spreadsheet cells such that a user can interact with the tasks. A data value from a spreadsheet cell can be embedded into a document such that when the spreadsheet is updated and the data value changes, the corresponding embedded data value within the document can be changed. Spreadsheets can also include comments that can be navigated using a movable interface element that changes position within the spreadsheet based on a location of a set of cells corresponding to a comment.

Abstract: Techniques for generating a crash-consistent clone of file(s) stored by a distributed file system are described herein. To generate the crash-consistent clone, a coordinator node may identify multiple nodes (e.g., at least a first node and a second node) of the distributed file system that are storing different portions of data of the file. The coordinator node may then send a first command to the multiple nodes to cause each of the multiple nodes to quiesce the file and clone the different portions of the data to generate the crash-consistent clone of the file. The coordinator node may then receive, from the multiple nodes, a status associated with generating the crash-consistent clone of the file. Based at least in part on the status, the coordinator node may send a second command to the multiple nodes to cause each of the multiple nodes to unquiesce the file.

The systems and methods further provide for analyzing the cluster of similar data records corresponding to each representative data record in a selected set of representative data records to generate candidate values for the requested data field of the new data record, and generating a candidate score for each of the candidate values using the distance score and the confidence score to use in providing a recommended candidate value.

Data constituting the requested file from data in the data store is generated based on the determined properties of the file, and in response to a request to read a portion of data from the file, a corresponding portion of the generated data is returned.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed relating to lock wait tracing. A computer system may operate a database that includes a lockable object. The computer may maintain a lock wait queue that stores an indication of processes waiting to acquire a lock on the lockable object. The computer system may store trace records for those processes that, upon releasing a respective lock on the lockable object when another process is waiting in the lock wait queue, have been in contention for the respective lock for over a threshold amount of time. The computer system may present ones of the trace records that identify a timeline that is usable to determine a set of processes that contributed to a delay in a process acquiring a lock on the lockable object.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer readable media are provided for automatically creating a semantic model of a relational database for processing natural language queries. A computing device automatically extracts relational database metadata. The computing device prompts a user to enter textual labels for columns of the extracted metadata. The computing device automatically generates a schema annotation file based upon the relational database metadata and the textual labels for the columns. A natural language query is processed for the relational database using the schema annotation file.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of systems, methods, and apparatus that execute classification techniques to enable high-quality analysis of ingest data by interpreting and categorizing disparate data points of the ingest data. The execution of the classification techniques leads to isolation of intrinsic properties of each data point to represent the essence of what the overall ingest data indicates. The classification techniques further enables classification of the ingest data, which is unencumbered by any ingest data format changes, such as ordering of data components, encoding, or properties associated with the ingest data that are likely to change without altering meaning conveyed by the ingest data.
