  • Patent number: 9315404
Abstract: A process comprising contacting deionized water with one or more Strecker sulfonation reaction products of one or more halogenated alkyl ethers in the presence of sulfite, wherein the one or more Strecker sulfonation reaction products each comprise one or more inorganic salts on a dry basis and one or more surfactant components, form a filtration mixture; loading the filtration mixture into a high pressure filtration system containing a membrane having a membrane molecular weight cutoff allowing preferential passage of the inorganic salts, for example, of greater than or equal to 200 Daltons; wherein the high pressure filtration system is operated at a pressure greater than ambient pressure and is configured to cause crossflow of the filtration mixture along a surface of the membrane resulting in a permeate solution which substantially passes through the membrane and a retentate solution which substantially does not pass through the membrane; wherein the permeate comprises less than or equal to 15 weight perc

  • Patent number: 8110692
Abstract: The present invention relates to new organic-inorganic hybrid silicates and metal-silicates called ECS, characterized by an X-ray powder diffraction pattern with reflections exclusively at angular values higher than 4.0° of 2?, preferably at angular values higher than 4.7°, and an ordered structure containing structural units having formula (a) wherein R is an organic group: Formula (a) and possibly containing one or more elements T selected from groups III B, IV B, V B and transition metals, with a Si/(Si +T) molar ratio in said structure higher than 0.3 and lower than or equal to 1, wherein Si is the silicon contained in the structural unit (a). A process is also described, starting from disilanes, for the preparation of these materials, which does not include the use of templates or surfactants. These materials can be used as molecular sieves, adsorbents, in the field of catalysis, in the field of electronics, in the field of sensors, in the field of nanotechnologies.

  • Patent number: 6706904
Abstract: Dimetalhydroxy malate compositions as well as methods of administering and making such bioavailable compositions are provided. The metal used can be any nutritionally relevant divalent metal such as calcium, magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese, and iron. The composition can be prepared by reacting malic acid with a divalent metal oxide or hydroxide at a 1:2 molar ratio. The composition can be administered to a warm-blooded animal by any of a number of known delivery routes, including oral delivery.

  • Patent number: 5621136
Abstract: A method of stabilizing an aqueous solution of an acid copolymer of maleic acid and a C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl vinyl ether against degradation in viscosity or molecular weight upon storage for an extended period of time in aqueous solution at ambient conditions, with a single stabilizing agent, which comprises forming the acid copolymer, preferably directly from a slurry of corresponding anhydride in an organic solvent by hydrolysis in water, and adding superoxide dismutase as the single stabilizing agent to the solution either before or after hydrolysis.
