  • Patent number: 8444140
Abstract: A sheet size setting device includes a first member and a second member. The first member includes a tubular holing portion having a first area and a second area in an axial direction. The second member is assembled with the first member movably in the axial direction of the tubular holding portion and includes a second indicator and a second detectable portion. A movement of the second member in the axial direction is restricted by a restricting portion. The restricting portion restricts the movement of the second member in the axial direction when the tubular holding portion is located at a first rotational position and permits the movement of the second member in the axis direction, thereby causing the second indicator to reach the first area and the second detectable portion to reach the second area, when the tubular holding portion is located at a second rotational position.

  • Patent number: 8403323
Abstract: A sheet stacking device and method of stacking sheets, wherein a first pressing member engages with an edge of a new sheet to be deposited on top of a previously deposited sheet on a sheet receiving plane and presses down the edge, while a second pressing member maintains a pressure onto an edge of the previously deposited sheet. The second pressing member engages with the edge of the new sheet and presses down the edge onto the previously deposited sheet on the receiving plane, while the first pressing member maintains a pressure onto the edge of the new sheet. Thus, the sheets may always be pressed down on the edge by at least one of the first and second pressing members.

  • Patent number: 8360422
Abstract: A method and system for performing sheet registration are disclosed. Output values for a sheet may be identified within a reference frame. A difference between each output value and a corresponding desired output value may be determined. Input values may be determined based on at least the differences. State feedback values may be determined based on information received from one or more sensors. Jerk values may be determined for multiple drive rolls based on the input values and the state feedback values. A desired angular velocity for each drive roll may be determined based on the corresponding jerk value. A motor voltage may be determined for each drive roll that tracks an observed angular velocity value to the desired angular velocity value. The jerk values may create a linear differential relationship between the input values and the output values. The steps may be performed multiple times.
