  • Patent number: 10878251
Abstract: In a people counting system, a plurality of vision sensors is arranged to provide sensor coverage of an area. Each is arranged to provide individual sensor coverage of a portion of the area within its field of view. Each of a plurality of local image processors is connected to a respective one of the vision sensors. Each of the local image processors is configured to apply a local person detection algorithm to at least one image captured by its respective vision sensor, thereby generating a local presence metric representative of a number of people detected in the at least one image. A central processor is configured to estimate the total number of people in the area covered by the vision sensors by applying an aggregation algorithm to the local presence metrics generated by the local image processors. As it is critical that user privacy be taken into account when utilising such people counting technology, an opt-out is enabled.

  • Patent number: 10846896
Abstract: Systems and methods for the automatic creation of multiple image layouts. In an example, an image processing application creates an output layered image from an input layered image that includes a background object, a foreground object, and a focus area that at least partially overlaps with the foreground object. The image processing application applies a scaling factor to the foreground object such that the foreground object either is entirely contained within the output foreground object or one dimension of the foreground object is contained within the output foreground object. The image processing application further determines an output focus area in the output foreground object by applying the scaling factor to the focus area. The image processing application crops the foreground object such that the focus area is contained within the output foreground object, thereby creating the output layered image.

  • Patent number: 10827422
Abstract: A method and system for steering a mobile device to a preferred network, such as a Private LTE network or a 5G network, in a scenario in which the coverage area of the preferred network overlaps the coverage area of a non-preferred network, such as a 3G or a 4G Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN). A preferred network list is provisioned into a SIM/eSIM module at the mobile device side. The mobile device periodically collects a set of values for attributes associated with a current location of the mobile device and reports the collected values to the Steering application, hosted at the network side. The Steering application detects whether the mobile device is within the coverage area of the preferred network and, if so, triggers the mobile device to perform network steering.

  • Patent number: 10812663
Abstract: A system and method in an intelligent network are provided for analyzing an event external to the intelligent network. A set of intelligent network subscribers is selected in a selected geographic area. Next, signal message data is obtained from a signaling network in the intelligent network, wherein the signal message data indicates status of subscribers in the set of intelligent network subscribers. External data related to the selected geographic area is obtained, wherein the external data is external to the intelligent network. The signal message data and the external data are then fused to produce synthetic data. In response to the synthetic data, an alert of an external event is produced. The alert can be graphically represented on a display.

  • Patent number: 10806335
Abstract: A processor of an endoscope system uses components of color image data of biological tissue illuminated by at least two types of light to generate an oxygen saturation distribution image of hemoglobin in the biological tissue and to calculate a certainty of an oxygen saturation. Furthermore, the processor controls a display mode of the oxygen saturation distribution image according to the degree of the certainty. The certainty drops if the value of a first component a of the color image data is lower than a lower limit threshold value. The certainty drops if the value of a second component b of the color image data is greater than an upper limit threshold value. The lower limit threshold value and the upper limit threshold value are values of two different pieces of color image data.

  • Patent number: 10803309
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and apparatus for determining a given variation of a form used by a filled in instance of that type of form from amongst a number of form templates. The given instance is aligned to each of the variants or form templates. The result of the alignment includes a series of key points that did not match up well (“bad” key points). The bad key points are taken from the form templates. Then, a set of pixel patches from around each of the bad key points of the form templates are extracted. The pixel patches are individually compared to corresponding pixel patches of the instance. The comparison generates a match score. The form template having the greatest match score is the correct form template.

  • Patent number: 10768086
Abstract: In determining the size of particles in a flowing sample, initially scattered light is detected on a detector, in the form of images, standardization of the measured images takes place and determination of an offset and of an angle of rotation at least of a partial region of two temporally successive images relative to each other is effected. Two images congruent are subdivided into many partial areas with respectively a specific number of pixels and averaging of the brightness values of each individual partial area is implemented. Subsequently, the average brightness value of a partial area of the first image is correlated with the average brightness value of the partial area made congruent with this partial area in the second image (cross-correlation between the images). For each pair of congruent partial areas of the images, a correlation value is thereby produced.

  • Patent number: 10772062
Abstract: A core network device of a telecommunications network can receive a first request from a consumer network function (NF) and forward the first request to a first provider NF. The device can subsequently detect a violation by the first provider NF of a response criterion. The device can receive a second request and forward the second request to a second, different provider NF in response to the violation. In some examples, the device can later detect that the first provider NF has satisfied the response criterion with respect to a third request. The device can modify load data to increase the proportion of subsequent requests for which the first provider NF is selected. The device can select provider NFs based on the load data. In some examples, a system can include a network registry device that selects NFs based on violation indications received from the core network device.
