  • Patent number: 9942381
Abstract: A method selects a communication status for a first mobile terminal. The first mobile terminal assumes a “slave” status during a first time period and waits to see whether, by a communication request from another mobile terminal to the first mobile terminal, a connection is set up to the other mobile terminal. If a connection is set up, the first mobile terminal constantly assumes the “slave” status and the other mobile terminal constantly assumes a “master” status. After the first time period without a communication request from another mobile terminal, the first mobile terminal switches from the “slave” status to the “master” status for a second time period and sends a number of communication requests to set up a connection to another mobile terminal and, if a connection is set up in this way, constantly assumes the “master” status and the other mobile terminal constantly assumes the “slave” status.

  • Patent number: 9913216
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Techniques for communicating between an access point and a mobile device via a low-power radio access technology different than a normal radio access technology used for communication are described. During a first negotiation, it is determined whether the access point and the mobile device are capable of communicating via the low-power radio access technology. During a second negotiation, communication parameters for using the low-power radio access technology are agreed upon between the access point and the mobile device. Communications via the low-power radio access technology may be made while the mobile device is in a low-power mode.

  • Patent number: 9893759
Abstract: A wireless relay mitigates Radio Frequency (RF) interference. A receive antenna receives RF signals over a receive frequency band. An RF receiver processes the received signals to detect and transfer RF interference levels. The processing circuitry transfers control data to a tunable RF isolator that indicates the size of a guard band between the receive frequency band and a transmit frequency band. The guard band size is selected based on the RF interference levels for the receive frequency band at the receive antenna. The tunable RF isolator attenuates RF frequencies in the tunable guard band from corresponding RF transmit signals. A transmit antenna transfers the RF transmit signals over the transmit frequency band.
