Abstract: This educational device has been specifically developed so that a severely mentally disabled person can build simple and compound machines that are used in the teaching of basic mechanics.The four elements-building units, linkages, connector-strips and a special supporting base called a linkage-box, are capable of being united even though the disabled person may also have severe physical disabilties in hand and arm movements.As the machines are built, the disabled person is also having a three dimensional real life experience with concepts such as, "force", "weight", "mechanical advantage", pulley, wheel, axle, velocity, rotation, directionality and cause and effect relationships.The knowledge and skills developed can also find practical application in the vocational, residential and recreational settings.

Abstract: A device for working a conditioning substance on a surface comprises a body portion containing an activatable motor. A head attached to the body portion has an outer head and a rotatable inner head. A drive shaft extends between the motor and the head, and is driven by the motor. The drive shaft has a first drive take off for imparting rotation to the inner head about a first central axis of rotation passing through the inner head. The drive shaft also has a second drive take off for imparting rotation to at least one massaging element about a second axis of rotation passing through the massaging element by frictionally engaging the massaging element, each massaging element being located within the inner head and extending past an outer surface thereof. When the motor is activated, each massaging element is simultaneously rotated in two manners, firstly, about the first central axis of rotation and secondly about the second axis of rotation, to work the surface upon the device being then applied.

Abstract: An apparatus having a frame adapted for earth traversing movement in a direction of travel and having a portion laterally positionable with respect to the direction of travel, a work assembly pivotally mounted on the laterally positionable portion of the frame for movement therewith, and an arm interconnecting the work assembly and the frame to pivot the work assembly through a plurality of positions relative to the direction of travel as the portion of the frame is laterally positioned.
