Patent number: 4033505Abstract: A cyclonic, multiple vortex type fuel burner having a combustion chamber with a closed curved end, with the main fuel and auxiliary fuel and air being tangentially injected into the chamber adjacent to the curved end creating a circular oriented combustion of the fuel, with the air being injected at varying quantities along the length of the combustion chamber, all to provide a controlled temperature in the burner chamber that burns all the combustible materials in the fuel and turns the non-combustible materials into dry slag or wet slag without burning the refractory materials forming the combustion chamber. The burner feeds a volume of air and fuel through fixed openings into the combustion chamber to provide a preset fuel/air ratio disribution along the length of the combustion chamber. This fuel/air ratio is subject to change with changes in the amount or density of fuel fed to the burner.Type: GrantFiled: November 17, 1975Date of Patent: July 5, 1977Assignee: Energex LimitedInventors: Kenneth Vaughn Lutes, Leland Golde Desmon, Edward Dana Dodge

Patent number: 4029258Abstract: A metal collector plate with black paint on its face is mounted in a heat insulated space with a dual pane transparent member transmitting solar rays to the face of the plate. The front face of the plate is spaced from the transparent member providing a passage for free flow of air upwardly along the painted surface. The back side of the plate is divided transversely for exposure to two air chambers, the lower air chamber receiving incoming cool air which becomes pre-heated by contact with the back side and then flows through suitable passages through the lower edge of the plate into the free flow passage, and the upper air chamber receiving heated air from the free flow passage through slots at the upper edge of the plate and additionally providing for contact between the heated air and the back side of the plate. A differential thermostat control for flow of air through the collector unit is operated by heat sensor probes in the cold air intake and hot air chamber.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 1975Date of Patent: June 14, 1977Assignee: Sun Unlimited Research CorporationInventor: Glenn F. Patent number: 3999650Abstract: A plurality of chutes are spaced downstream of a supply of comminuted material. A first transport band displaces the material upwardly out of the supply and drops the material into the first chute. Some of the material dropped into the first chute is spread by a distributing brush at the bottom of the chute onto the transport band and the balance of the material is picked up by a second transport band extending upwardly out of the first chute and terminating above a second chute so as to drop this material into the second chute whence it is deposited by another distribution brush onto the belt on top of the material deposited from the first chute. Both of the transport bands are inclined at the same angle to the horizontal and are independently driven at different speeds.Type: GrantFiled: June 9, 1975Date of Patent: December 28, 1976Assignee: G. Patent number: 3999930Abstract: A mold assembly, as much as 12 feet long, consists of a strip of material having a cavity extending from end to end, the cavity being smooth walled about its periphery and open at ends and on one side. Curable sheet composite elastomer material faced with a reinforcing sheet is folded around a mandrel leaving free flaps and slid endwise into the cavity. The flaps are then folded on each other over a filler and a cover strip forming a part of the mold is laid over them. This assembly is then loaded endwise into a container of similar length in which is an inflatable bag, the container being located in an oven. The bag is first inflated to press the cover strip against the exterior of the mold assembly and heat is applied to cure the elastomer material. Thereafter the bag is deflated, the mold assembly removed from the container, the elastomer material and mandrel removed endwise from the mold cavity and the mandrel removed from the cured elastomer material to free the cured finished product.Type: GrantFiled: January 13, 1975Date of Patent: December 28, 1976Inventor: Louis E.
