Abstract: Eyelets are positioned through openings from one side of a circuit board so as to make electrical connections with circuit runs on the board, flash lamp lead-in wires are positioned through the eyelets, and shank portions of the eyelets extending from the other side of the board are bent over to hold the wires and secure the eyelets to the board. One or more of the eyelet shanks are bent so as to extend farther from the board than other eyelet shanks to make contact with a shield member and/or prevent the other eyelet shanks from contacting the shield member.
Abstract: A cyclonic, multiple vortex type fuel burner having a combustion chamber with a closed curved end, with the main fuel and auxiliary fuel and air being tangentially injected into the chamber adjacent to the curved end creating a circular oriented combustion of the fuel, with the air being injected at varying quantities along the length of the combustion chamber, all to provide a controlled temperature in the burner chamber that burns all the combustible materials in the fuel and turns the non-combustible materials into dry slag or wet slag without burning the refractory materials forming the combustion chamber. The burner feeds a volume of air and fuel through fixed openings into the combustion chamber to provide a preset fuel/air ratio disribution along the length of the combustion chamber. This fuel/air ratio is subject to change with changes in the amount or density of fuel fed to the burner.

Abstract: A metal collector plate with black paint on its face is mounted in a heat insulated space with a dual pane transparent member transmitting solar rays to the face of the plate. The front face of the plate is spaced from the transparent member providing a passage for free flow of air upwardly along the painted surface. The back side of the plate is divided transversely for exposure to two air chambers, the lower air chamber receiving incoming cool air which becomes pre-heated by contact with the back side and then flows through suitable passages through the lower edge of the plate into the free flow passage, and the upper air chamber receiving heated air from the free flow passage through slots at the upper edge of the plate and additionally providing for contact between the heated air and the back side of the plate. A differential thermostat control for flow of air through the collector unit is operated by heat sensor probes in the cold air intake and hot air chamber.
Abstract: A single evaporator, single fan combination refrigerator includes a temperature control system which thermostatically maintains the fresh food compartment at a desired temperature by cycling the refrigerator system on and off as required, and which controls freezer compartment temperature by varying airflow through a duct conducting refrigerated air from the evaporator chamber to the fresh food compartment. Variable airflow control apparatus comprising a mechanical summer operating an air valve varies airflow through the duct as a function of the settings of both the fresh food control and the freezer control.

Cooling means are also provided to cool the formed pipe end portion.
Abstract: A plurality of chutes are spaced downstream of a supply of comminuted material. A first transport band displaces the material upwardly out of the supply and drops the material into the first chute. Some of the material dropped into the first chute is spread by a distributing brush at the bottom of the chute onto the transport band and the balance of the material is picked up by a second transport band extending upwardly out of the first chute and terminating above a second chute so as to drop this material into the second chute whence it is deposited by another distribution brush onto the belt on top of the material deposited from the first chute. Both of the transport bands are inclined at the same angle to the horizontal and are independently driven at different speeds.
Abstract: A mold assembly, as much as 12 feet long, consists of a strip of material having a cavity extending from end to end, the cavity being smooth walled about its periphery and open at ends and on one side. Curable sheet composite elastomer material faced with a reinforcing sheet is folded around a mandrel leaving free flaps and slid endwise into the cavity. The flaps are then folded on each other over a filler and a cover strip forming a part of the mold is laid over them. This assembly is then loaded endwise into a container of similar length in which is an inflatable bag, the container being located in an oven. The bag is first inflated to press the cover strip against the exterior of the mold assembly and heat is applied to cure the elastomer material. Thereafter the bag is deflated, the mold assembly removed from the container, the elastomer material and mandrel removed endwise from the mold cavity and the mandrel removed from the cured elastomer material to free the cured finished product.

Abstract: Carbon electrodes for the aluminum industry are shaped in a vibrating mold whose horizontal oscillations are restrained by tension members elongated in a horizontal direction and interposed between the vibrating mold and its stationary supporting structure to exert opposed forces on the mold in a common horizontal plane, thereby impeding horizontal vibration of the mold while permitting vibration in a vertical direction.
Abstract: A preform locator and blow air valve apparatus, for use in a stretch pin assembly in a blow molding machine that produces hollow thermoplastic articles, which functions as a positive blow air shut-off valve means in the absence of a preform in a mold assembly. A tubular valve body is mounted in a stretch pin assembly, with a longitudinally movable blow air nozzle means slidably mounted in the valve body for carrying the preform and locating and sealing the preform against a shoulder in a mold assembly on a blow molding machine. A stretch pin is slidably mounted longitudinally through the blow air nozzle means for stretching a preform mounted on the nozzle means. A blow air passage means is operatively formed through the tubular valve body and blow air nozzle means for admitting blow air under pressure into a preform located in the mold assembly, by said blow air nozzle means, for blowing the preform into a finished article.
Abstract: A device for regulating the flow of moldable material from a mold which has two mold parts which are separable along a parting plane or surface with a vent passage defined along the plane which extends from the interior of the mold to atmosphere or to a venting apparatus such as a venting pump. One of the mold parts is provided with a recess adjacent the mold separating plane which includes a block having a vent continuation passage which communicates with the vent passage. The vent continuation passage includes a first elongated vent continuation passage portion which communicates with the lower end of a piston bore for a regulating piston which is displaceable in the bore against biasing means by an outflow of the moldable material.
Abstract: Apparatus for removing partially exposed, upstanding, plug-like, cured scrap from sprues of a mold is disclosed. The scrap is integral with and separable from cured elastomeric product formed in respective mold cavities of the mold at corresponding sprue constriction regions of minimum cross-section. The apparatus comprises a wiping assembly engageable with the exposed portions of the scrap, and a system for moving the mold and wiping assembly relative to one another to effect engagement of the scrap with the wiping assembly and thereby tear the scrap free from each cured elastomeric product at the sprue constriction regions of minimum cross-section.
