Abstract: Some aspects of the present disclosure describe an orthopedic brace for a portion of a user's upper extremity distal to the elbow. The orthopedic brace includes a body configured to surround said portion of the user's upper extremity. The body includes a first region configured to stabilize said portion of the user's upper extremity. The orthopedic brace includes a second region coupled to the first region. The second region has sufficient elasticity to enable the body to adjust circumferentially to fit said portion of the user's upper extremity.

Abstract: Delivery systems and compositions comprised of a biodegradable polyorthoester polymer, an aprotic solvent, and a drug are described. The solvent is selected to modulate release of drug from the composition, where, in some embodiments, the solvent is rapidly released after administration and provides a corresponding rapid rate of drug release. Alternatively, in other embodiments, the solvent is slowly released from the composition after its administration, and provides a correspondingly slow rate of drug release.

Abstract: Provided are cosmetic preparations for topical application containing nanocrystals of cosmetic actives leading to an increased bioactivity of the molecules in the skin and methods of making the cosmetic preparations. The nanocrystals can be added to any cosmetic topical formulation, e. g. creams, lotions and liposomal dispersions. The drug nanocrystals are produced by a combination process of low energy pearl milling followed by a high energy high-pressure homogenization leading to nanocrystal suspensions (nanosuspensions) of improved physical stability.
Abstract: Toroidal-spiral shaped particles, their method of manufacture, and uses thereof are disclosed. The toroidal-spiral particles can contain at least one active agent, such as a drug, and provide a controlled, sustained release of the active agent.
