  • Patent number: 10741292
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for remote medical analysis. Advances in mobile devices offer a way to connect animals and veterinarians in ways other than physical proximity. Using a phone's camera to take photos or and/or video and send those to a veterinarian allows greater degree of detail to be communicated in triaging or diagnosing or follow-up for an animal. Additionally, the camera could be used to conduct a video chat between an animal owner and a veterinarian allowing real-time viewing and conversation between the two parties.

  • Patent number: 10734099
Abstract: A system and method for on-site biopsy management. Patient information is retrieved through a biopsy system. A name of a patient, a biopsy type, and a site of the biopsy information are communicated to a user. Confirmations are received from the user through the biopsy system of the name of the patient, the biopsy type, and the site of the biopsy. A biopsy is associated with an identifier of a container securing the biopsy in response to receiving the confirmation. The biopsy information and the patient information is linked in the biopsy system. The linking is performed at a location the biopsy is performed.

  • Patent number: 10657738
Abstract: A method for identifying a trajectory for each vehicle involved in an accident. The method begins by plotting on a Cartesian Coordinate Plane GNSS locations corresponding to a vehicle involved in the accident. Next, the method identifies GNSS locations on the Cartesian Coordinate Plane where the vehicle was speeding. Next, the method marks those GNSS locations on the Cartesian Coordinate Plane where the vehicle involved in the accident was skidding. The process of plotting and identifying speeding as well as skidding is repeated for all vehicles involved in the accident. The Cartesian Coordinate plane then having all vehicle trajectories residing therein is sent to an output device.

  • Patent number: 10621307
Abstract: A system for generating image-based patient profiles acquires digital images from tissue samples and CT and MRI scans. The system detects objects within the images, measures values related to the detected objects, and displays the measured values in patient profile lists that indicate the normal ranges for measured values. The system indicates which measured values fall outside the normal ranges and navigates the user to the objects in the images associated with the abnormal values when the user selects a measured value in the patient profile. Various risks of the existence of different diseases and the probability of success of specific treatments are displayed on a graphical user interface. The system searches for patterns in the patient data and profile lists that reflect those specific risks and success probabilities. A high probability of disease risk or of the success of a specific treatment is indicated on the graphical user interface.

  • Patent number: 10565545
Abstract: A drug inspection support apparatus inspects drugs that are prepared based on prescription information and are packaged in a prescription bag. A drug database stores drug master images of drugs that can be prepared. A first drug determination section compares drug master images from the drug database with a captured image obtained by capturing an image of prepared drugs, and determines drugs present in the captured image and the number of drugs. A list creation section creates a list displaying drug master images of drugs, which are prepared according to a prescription, and drug area images, which are determined to be respective drugs in a captured image, so that the positions thereof are aligned with one another.

  • Patent number: 10121193
Abstract: A method for processing a life insurance facultative case summary submission over a network between a ceding company and a reinsurer. Initially, a facultative case summary submission is received by the reinsurer from the ceding company via the network. Thereafter, a facultative decision is rendered by the reinsurer based on the received facultative case summary submission. Because the information is summarized and sent electronically or via voice message, less information is processed in a faster period of time thereby rendering quicker decisions than when the complete case history is submitted to the reinsurer for review.

  • Patent number: 9727936
Abstract: A computer-implemented method receives, into a computerized system, routine electronic transmissions such as a clinician order entry (CPOE) order message relating to a patient. The order message is used to identify one of a number of pre-established templates to create an individualized wellness plan. The method identifies data variables that need to be supplied for the wellness plan and identifies patient documentation related to the wellness plan. The method supplies the data variables and combines patient documentation into the wellness plan. The method identifies and includes dependency-awareness of tasks, reminders, and appointments within and across wellness plans. The method can customize the wellness plan according to clinician preferences and patient preferences, and can restrict access and content of the wellness plan.

  • Patent number: 9600633
Abstract: A system and method for communicating and validating patient information including medication delivery information in a care-giving facility is provided. A medical transaction carrier is used to communicate information regarding medication delivery and other patient information between a control system in communication with the care-giving facility's other information systems and a patient specific asset such as an infusion pump. All information carried by the medical transaction carrier is validated both at the patient specific asset and at the control system. This validation allows for positive control of all transactions even if a medical transaction carrier is lost. The medical transaction carrier may be a smartcard, a PDA such as a Palm™ Pilot, laptop computer, pager, mobile phone, or other device capable of storing and communicating information. The system may use either wired or wireless connections to communicate information between the components of the system.

  • Patent number: 9055412
Abstract: A utility within a mobile device or other device computes and provides an optimal mobile coverage route. The device receives a stating point/location and a destination point/location. The mobile device downloads a provider's mobile coverage information, accesses historical data stored by the mobile device, and obtains user feedback from the provider. The optimal mobile coverage route is then computed at the device, and the optimal mobile coverage route is provided via one of the following: a web site, or a text message (SMS) to, a voice operated feed, or any direct feed to the user of the mobile device. The computed optimal mobile coverage route is then used by the user of the mobile device when communicating with another mobile device while travelling from the starting point to the end point.

  • Patent number: 8775200
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method utilizes patient claim data, including medical, pharmaceutical, laboratory claims, and self-report survey data to classify patients into one or more health management groups (HMGs) relating to one or more particular diseases, health conditions or health pre-conditions, each having an associated severity level that indicates the severity of the patient's condition. The HMGs assigned to each patient (e.g., health plan member) enable users of the system and method to identify patients having particular diseases, health conditions and pre-conditions based not only upon the patients' claim data but also based upon the patients' self-report survey data obtained from various sources. The HMGs assigned for each patient also enable the user to identify the severity of the patient's disease, condition or pre-condition to facilitate intervention and/or preventative care of the patient.

  • Patent number: 8682694
Abstract: A system and method for allowing a patient to access an automated process for managing a specified health problem called a disease. The system performs disease management in a fully automated manner, using periodic interactive dialogs with the patient to obtain health state measurements from the patient, to evaluate and assess the progress of the patient's disease, to review and adjust therapy to optimal levels, and to give the patient medical advice for administering treatment and handling symptom flare-ups and acute episodes of the disease. The medical records are updated, the progression of the disease is stored and tracked, and the patient's preferences for treatment are stored and then used to offer medical advice based on the current state of the disease. A prestored general disease trend curve is compared against a patient specific disease trend curve, and the system makes an automated response such as adjusting therapy.
