Abstract: The present invention provides a technique of simply editing a source file described in a markup language. An editing server 700 receives specification data from a client 800 and edits an original source file in units of divisions in a grammatical framework, so as to create an edited source file. Editing-related buttons for specifying deletion and decomposition of each division is added to the division. The user operates these buttons to edit the original source file in the markup language in units of the divisions. The editing method of obtaining a user's desired edited source file from the original source file is specified by parameters in a URL. The URL is adopted to readily and conveniently give a desirably edited image output from the original source file without storing the edited source file.

Abstract: In an icon-based computer interface, a context menu includes a command line prompt for entry of textual parameter data for application programs. Computer operators may enter textual parameter data for the application via the command line prompt and launch the application corresponding to the icon in a manner that is determined by the parameter data.

Abstract: A method and computer implemented system may be used to abstract an electronic document. A user is prompted to select at least one abstracted version of the electronic document. A set of instructions is selected for abstracting the electronic document, and the abstracted version is created by executing the selected set of instructions. The instructions may be generic or particularized to the electronic document. The abstracted version of the electronic document is then outputted in a predetermined format.

Abstract: A method for remote computer systems management through an FTP Internet connection. A user operating on a remote client issues requests to the host server. These requests are first sent to an FTP server which enforces security measures. Upon authentication, the FTP server issues appropriate commands and then passes these commands on to the operation system of the host server through an FTP transfer. The commands perform standard features of the operation system which are not normally allowable by traditional FTP. Responses are sent back through the FTP server to the original requestor's remote client computer. A web-based management application may be used to provide an intuitive, user-friendly graphical user interface to be operated in conjunction with a web browser on the local client computer. The user submits requests through this web control panel to initiate operations to be executed on the remote operating system of the host server.

Abstract: A system and method for inserting content is described. A user may designate content to be inserted into a document and have the content inserted into the document at either a designed location or, by determining the content associated with a receiving page, the system may select a location on the receiving page. The user may further choose various options including shrinking the new content to fit the page and/or may choose to have the existing content shifted to make room for the new content.

Abstract: Instructions are received to open an eXtensible Markup Language (XML) document. The XML document is searched to locate a processing instruction (PI) containing an entity. The entity, by example, can be a href attribute, a URL, a name, or a character string identifying an application that created an HTML electronic form associated with the XML document. A solution is discovered using the entity. The XML document is opened with the solution. The solution includes an XSLT presentation application and an XML schema. The XML document can be inferred from the XML schema and portions of the XML document are logically coupled with fragments of the XML schema. The XSLT presentation application is executing to transform the coupled portions of the XML document into the HTML electronic form containing data-entry fields associated with the coupled portions. Data entered through the data-entry fields can be validated using the solution.

Abstract: A cellular telephone set can simplify operation when a picture (picture memorandum) picked-up as memorandum is registered in a memory and reproduced. Upon initial registration of an image to a memory for the picture memorandum, a picture memorandum icon is generated and displayed by a CPU. In subsequent registration of images, a user is not required for a particular operation. Upon reading out the registered images, the first registered image is displayed on the waiting screen image by selecting the picture memorandum icon on the display portion. If the user wants to see a necessary image other than the display image, the registered images are displayed on the waiting screen image sequentially by operating the cursor key. Therefore, the desired image can be easily extracted.

Abstract: Described is a method and system for comparing two XML documents, usually represented as two logical dependency trees, and providing their differences as a set of tree operations. The set of tree operations may be used to transform one tree to the other. A first phase constructs an XML tree of nodes for each file, and a second, link tree construction phase builds a tree of link objects that relate nodes in the left tree to nodes in the right tree. Construction of the link tree generally operates by mapping equal subtrees in the left and right trees to each other, linking mapped subtrees to each other, removing any crossing links, linking groups, and filling gaps in the link tree. A third output phase uses the link tree to write an output file, such as comprising an XML document of change (e.g., insert and delete) operations.

Abstract: A timing control circuit includes a synchronization circuit and a detection circuit. The synchronization circuit includes a main delay line configured to receive an input clock signal and delay the input clock signal by a time interval to generate an output clock signal and a control circuit configured to control the main delay line to vary the time interval to synchronize the input clock signal with a feedback clock signal generated from the output clock signal responsive to assertion of an enable signal. The detection circuit is configured to receive the input clock signal and the feedback clock signal, detect a phase alignment error between the input clock signal and the feedback clock signal, and assert the enable signal responsive to the phase alignment error exceeding a predetermined amount.
