  • Patent number: 7472350
Abstract: A method, system, and article of manufacture that help system administrators visualize the relationship between a global setting and the setting in each instance. One embodiment of the present invention comprises receiving a selection of a setting, determining an inheritance state for the selected setting, and displaying a graphical indication of the inheritance state of the selected setting. In some embodiments, the method further comprises displaying a graphical indication of the inheritance relationship between the selected setting and at least one related setting. The method may also include receiving a change inheritance relationship command, and changing the inheritance relationship for the selected setting.

  • Patent number: 7469386
Abstract: The present invention provides a systems, methods, and products for enhanced user navigation to compliment (but not necessarily replace) a computer keyboard and mouse by providing a robust navigation interface. The present invention may comprise: a minimally necessary group of commands; combining the functionality a set of at least two command calls into a single logical button; for a single button, prioritizing a set of command calls from first to last and then calling each until one is accepted; logically remapping commands to buttons for a navigational device coupled to a physically rotate-able display device; and mapping a substitute command to a logical button for when the button is engaged in a predetermined manner other than the primary manner in which the logical button is engaged (e.g., double-clicking, flicking, press-and-hold, etc.) so that a substitute command can in fact be issued, among others.

  • Patent number: 7467352
Abstract: A first user interface is presented (101) within a portable electronic device. The selection of a first function by the user via the first user interface is then detected (102). In response to detecting (102) the user's selection of the first function, the first user interface is then replaced (103) with at least a partially disabled second user interface that is different from the first user interface. A user selection of at least one user-selectable function in the second user interface is then detected (104). After the function is detected, the first user interface provides (105) the user with information regarding at least one corresponding user-selectable function that comprises a substantially similar function as the selected user-selectable function from the second user interface.

  • Patent number: 7454695
Abstract: Methods are provided for rendering tabular data to a variety of media. A table is received having one or more cells where each cell may span one or more columns and one or more rows. The table is represented as a grid where the grid houses the cells. Moreover, a generic table is provided and represented by one or more formatting commands, which are operable to provide a rendering of the grid to an output media. Furthermore, a set of executable instructions operable to produce formatting commands to render a table is provided including decoupling cells from a table and storing the cells in a matrix. A dimension is associated with each cell in terms of each cell's relative position to other cells within the matrix. Further, formatting commands are outputted and operable to produce a rendition of the table to an output media. Also, a set of executable instructions operable to produce a rendition of a table is provided.

  • Patent number: 7444590
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for declarative localization of web services. A “localize” attribute is described that uniquely identifies localized content for the final rendered element. The “localize” attribute is stripped out during the rendering process, so it never reaches the client or agent, making the “localize” attribute HTML-compliant. A separate satellite assembly is maintained for each culture. When a request is received, a culture is identified and the “localize” attribute directs processing to utilize content maintained in the satellite assembly associated with the identified culture. Processing then continues normally.
