  • Patent number: 9161158
Abstract: Information is acquired from a geographically-distributed sensor network using a scalable wireless geocast protocol. Geographically distributed networks of unattended sensors are placed at desired locations to collect various types of information, such as, for example, environmental parameters, temperature, humidity, rainfall, heat signatures, video, audio, seismic activity, and/or wind conditions. To acquire information, a query is provided to the geographic area at which the sensors are located utilizing the geocast protocol. Delivery of the query is based on a physical location of a region in which a sensor network is located, the type of information being queried, and/or temporal conditions. Each sensor that receives a query determines if all requirements/conditions are satisfied. If so, the query is accepted and processed by the recipient sensor, and responded to accordingly. Responses to queries are provided via the geocast protocol.

  • Patent number: 9143189
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments providing selecting various schemes for combining antenna signals for synchronization. For example, processing circuitry determines a first weight for a first antenna based on a signal strength metric of the first antenna and a second weight for a second antenna based on a signal strength metric of the second antenna. The processing circuitry receives a synchronization signal via the first antenna and the second antenna. Then the processing circuitry may weight the synchronization signal received via the first antenna according to the first weight to generate a first weighted synchronization signal and weight the synchronization signal received via the second antenna according to the second weight to generate a second weighted synchronization signal. The processing circuitry further combines the first weighted synchronization signal and the second weighted synchronization signal to generate a combined synchronization signal.

  • Patent number: 9055162
Abstract: A method of facilitating communications between a mobile terminal and a display device includes determining an orientation of a mobile terminal with respect to a display device that is physically distinct of the mobile terminal, and determining a manner in which wireless content data is to be communicated between the display device and the mobile terminal. The method includes wirelessly transmitting the content data between the display device and the mobile terminal based on the determined manner. The determined manner of the communication can be based on determining whether the mobile terminal faces a display screen of the display device for wirelessly transmitting the content data from the mobile terminal to the display device or determining whether the mobile terminal faces away from the display screen of the display device for wirelessly transmitting the content data from the display device to the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 9026064
Abstract: A wireless communication node (10) dynamically estimates passive intermodulation (PIM) interference coupled into the node's receive path from the transmission of a composite signal through the node's transmit path. The node (10) then cancels the estimated PIM interference in the receive path. In some embodiments, the node dynamically estimates the PIM interference as a function of the composite signal that models PIM interference generation and coupling in the node (10) according to one or more coefficients (30). The coefficients (30) may be determined by transmitting a test signal (34) during a test stage, when the node (10) is not scheduled to receive any signal. Later, when the composite signal (18) is transmitted, the node (10) uses the coefficients (10) to dynamically estimate and cancel the resulting PIM interference.
