Patent number: 7581705Abstract: A rotatable base apparatus for use with a hose reel enclosure. The base comprises an upper and a lower portion. A bearing is located in between the upper and lower portions and allows the portions to rotate with respect to each other. The bearing can comprise balls mounted in sockets in the lower base portion which ride in a track in the upper base portion. Clips are provided on the upper base portion to secure the hose reel enclosure thereto. This arrangement allows the user to remove the hose from the reel in any direction without the danger of the hose reel enclosure tipping over. The hose reel enclosure will rotate to the direction in which the hose is being removed. It also allows the hose reel enclosure to rotate to the direction that the hose is being wound onto the reel. This prevents the hose from being unevenly wound onto the reel, i.e. piling up on one side of the reel.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2007Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Assignee: Suncast CorporationInventors: Lyle A. Patent number: 7581704Abstract: The cupholder apparatus removably receives a cup of liquid, typically beverage. The apparatus separates a user's hand from the cup, thereby providing protection from temperature extremes of the cup's liquid and the cup. The apparatus is especially effective with disposable cups and is provided in more than one embodiment. Both embodiments provide a flattened tapered ring to removably receive a cup, especially a tapered one. The first apparatus embodiment has a handle with a clip which movably extends over the cup. The clip provides spring-loaded downward pressure atop the cup, thereby providing cup retention within the ring. Button depression releases the clip from atop the cup, thereby releasing the cup for removal. The second embodiment provides a handle with orifice and a loop with orifice on the opposite ring side, an elastic band selectively disposed over a cup lid and a cup within the ring.Type: GrantFiled: October 15, 2008Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Inventor: Dennis D. Patent number: 7552902Abstract: An object such as an electromagnetic valve is resiliently mounted (or in a floating manner) on a mounting base such as an intake manifold of an internal combustion engine. A valve port of the electromagnetic valve is connected to a connecting hole of the intake manifold via an O-ring, and a stay connected to the electromagnetic valve is coupled to a bolt via a resilient member such as a grommet. The bolt is rotated to be fastened to the intake manifold by screwing. A rod portion of the bolt is inserted into a hole of the grommet. Projections and depressions such as grooves extending along the rotational direction of the rod portion are formed on the inner surface of the grommet hole to reduce a contacting area and abrasion force between the grommet and the rod portion. In this manner, deformation of the grommet caused by rotation of the rod portion is suppressed.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2007Date of Patent: June 30, 2009Assignee: Denso CorporationInventor: Shigeto Tsuge

Patent number: 7546998Abstract: A fan fixing structure for holding a fan and fixing it on a housing is provided. The structure includes a guide piece secured on the housing, a cover plate, a resilient piece and a positioning element. The cover plate is pivoted on the guide piece and pivotedly rotates between an open position and a closed position. When the cover plate is in the open position, it further shifts to an engaged position. Therefore, the fan is moved into the guide piece by the guidance of the guide piece, and then fixed on the housing by pivotedly rotating the cover plate to the closed position and moving it to the engaged position. Meanwhile, the fan is stably located in the engaged position by the proper arrangement of the resilient piece and the positioning element. The object of easily assembling, fixing and disassembling the fan without tools is achieved.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2006Date of Patent: June 16, 2009Assignee: Inventec CorporationInventor: Wen-Haw Chen

Patent number: 7546993Abstract: A clamping apparatus of the present invention is used in a medical environment to rotationally and releasably secure a device to a support member. The clamping apparatus includes a device clamp having first and second clamp elements and a connector interconnecting the clamp elements. The clamp elements define a first receptacle for receiving a support and a second receptacle for receiving a mounting structure. At least one clamping element defines a device catch in the second receptacle. The connector is selectively moveable between a first position in which relative rotation between the flexible shaft, device clamp and device is resisted, and a second position in which the device is permitted to rotate without releasing connection to the support. A method of supporting a medical device on a support to permit selective rotation of the medical device relative to a flexible shaft without loss of interconnection is also disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: March 25, 2008Date of Patent: June 16, 2009Assignee: Tyco Healthcare Group LPInventor: Clarence Walker

Patent number: 7540460Abstract: A mounting assembly for mounting a fixture such as a loudspeaker speaker in-wall or in-ceiling includes a bracket assembly to mechanically couple wall or ceiling and speaker to the supporting studs or joists on both sides of the hole in which the loudspeaker will be mounted. The bracket assembly may comprise two halves, each of which includes a bracket plate, a left bracket slider and a right bracket slider, and associated fasteners. Each half of the bracket is sized so that it will pass easily through the opening made in the partition for receiving the loudspeaker. Once inside the partition, the two bracket sliders expand to reach the nearby studs or joists where they are coupled to the studs or joists using fasteners such as screws. Once the bracket sliders are attached, they are secured to the bracket plate with fasteners such as thumbscrews, thereby making a rigid structure. This is repeated for the other half of the bracket assembly.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2006Date of Patent: June 2, 2009Assignee: Britannia Investment CorporationInventors: Scott Donald Orth, Steven Saint John Tourison, David Allen Fitzpatrick
