  • Patent number: 7408535
Abstract: Aspects of the invention provide a driving circuit of an electro-optical panel that can include a plurality of power lines, a signal line, a driving device, and a protective circuit. The driving device can drive the electro-optical panel based on powers supplied from a power-supply circuit through the plurality of power lines and various signals input through the signal line. The protective circuit is provided between at least two power lines among the plurality of power lines, to which powers of different potentials are supplied, and can include an electrical path for dissipating static applied to one of the two power lines to the other. Accordingly, the driving circuit can increase resistance to static of an electro-optical apparatus, such as a liquid crystal apparatus.

  • Patent number: 7358938
Abstract: A circuit and method for driving pixels in an organic electroluminescent display that reduces the number of wirings of a compensation circuit for addressing brightness non-uniformity. The pixel driving circuit includes an organic electroluminescent device that emits light corresponding to an amount of a current being applied. A first transistor is connected to a power supply voltage and applies the current corresponding to a data voltage to the organic electroluminescent device. A first capacitor stores the data voltage, and a threshold voltage compensation unit stores a threshold voltage of the first transistor. A second transistor transmits the data voltage from a data line in response to a selection signal from an nth scan line. A switching unit electrically disconnects a second primary electrode of the first transistor from the organic electroluminescent device while the threshold voltage is stored in the threshold voltage compensation unit in response to a control signal.

  • Patent number: 7352341
Abstract: A PDP driving method. When a first sustain pulse is applied to a scan electrode during a sustain period, an address electrode is biased by a positive voltage, or the address electrode is biased. Therefore, when a large amount of wall charges are formed on the address and scan electrodes by address discharging during an address period, no main discharge is generated since a high potential of the address electrode is formed in the sustain period.

  • Patent number: 7342570
Abstract: An optical mouse and image capture chip thereof. The image capture chip comprises an image sensor, a calculating logic circuit, and a refreshing logic circuit. The image sensor has a plurality of sensor units, capturing an image according to an exposure parameter to provide a plurality of exposure values. The calculating logic circuit provides an average exposure value by calculating the exposure values. If the exposure sample is within a first exposure range, the refreshing logic circuit maintains the exposure parameter and accordingly drives the image sensor to capture a next image. If the average exposure value is within a second exposure range, the refreshing logic circuit adjusts the exposure parameter with a first exposure extreme and accordingly drives the image sensor to capture a next image.

  • Patent number: 7333081
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an image display technology with which high contrast can be stably obtained. In order to achieve the above object, the present invention changes the gain of a digital luminance signal by feeding back information on maximum and average luminance levels of the luminance signal, adjusts image contrast, and in accordance with the average luminance level detected from the feedback system, controls the illuminance of the backlight applied to a display unit. The control increases the illuminance of the backlight when the detected average luminance level is higher than the upper-limit value of a previously set reference range, and reduces the illuminance when the detected average luminance level is lower than the lower-limit value of the reference range.
