  • Patent number: 12375738
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for improved delivery of foveated rendering streams for media content delivery. Received video data is separated into a high acuity (HA) stream and a low acuity (LA) stream. The HA stream is marked to indicate HA transmission. A communication device that retransmits the HA stream based on the marking transmits the HA stream at a lower latency and a higher reliability than the LA stream. A receiving device receives the HA stream and the LA stream. A display device generates for display a combined stream including the HA stream and the LA stream. Artificial intelligence systems, including neural networks, are trained for improving the foveated rendering. Models are developed for the foveated rendering. Related apparatuses, devices, techniques, and articles are also described.

  • Patent number: 12375750
Abstract: A first networked device may perform operations including receiving, from a media source device, a first media stream and a first media stream identifier. The first networked device may receive the first media stream via a wireless network connection. Operations may further include receiving, from a second networked device, a second media stream identifier that corresponds to a second media stream the second networked device is receiving from the media source device. Operations may further include determining a common stream characteristic between the first media stream and the second media stream and, in response to determining the common stream characteristic, grouping the second networked device with the first networked device. Operations may further include transmitting, to a controller device, an indication that the first networked device and second networked device are grouped.

  • Patent number: 12363261
Abstract: A method for video management within a CCTV system includes receiving, at a computing device via one or more intermediate devices in the CCTV system, a video stream generated by a sensor device of the CCTV system. The video stream includes a plurality of video frames. The computing device sends, via the one or more intermediate devices of the CCTV system, an instruction to a sensor device configured to generate a video stream including a plurality of video frames. The computing device receives, via the one or more intermediate devices of the CCTV system, one or more frames of the plurality of video frames embedded with metadata associated with performance of the instruction by the sensor device. Performance of the CCTV system is evaluated using the metadata embedded within the one or more video frames.

  • Patent number: 12342006
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for receiving a first request, associated with a first user profile, to record a content item, and storing, at a server and based on the first request, a first copy of the content item, accessible via the first user profile. A second request to record the content item may be received, associated with a second user profile, and content consumption history associated with the second user profile may be identified. Based on such content consumption history, a determination may be made to refrain from storing a second copy of the content item based on the second request. In response to receiving a request, associated with the second user profile, to access the content item, the content item may be played at a device associated with the second user profile based on the stored first copy of the content item.

Abstract: A method of communicating an alert includes: encoding data received from a plurality of sources by a central content controller (CCC) and determining existence of one or more alerts. If no alerts exist, the encoded data is assigned as streams to subchannels. For existing alerts, a market area (MA) is determined and the alert is assigned as a stream to a data subchannel and the encoded data is assigned as streams to remaining subchannels. For each MA without an applicable alert, the encoded data is assigned as streams to the subchannels. The assigned data is transmitted to regional controllers (RCs) for broadcasting to the associated MAs.

  • Patent number: 12256125
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments are directed toward local emotion detection during live streaming events. A client device receives a video stream from a remote server and captures media content while displaying the video stream. The client device uses a local machine learning/artificial intelligence event detection model to detect events in the media content. The client device then transmits detected events to the remote server involved in the live stream. The client device may additionally stream the locally captured media content to the remote server. In response, the remote server provides an interaction dashboard and, in some embodiments, mixes the local media content with the live stream.

  • Patent number: 12250418
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for managing recorded media assets through advertisement insertion. A media guidance application may record and store media assets for later viewing by a user. To help ensure that the user views older recordings first, the media guidance application may insert advertisements into media assets which are part of a program series where there are older recorded media assets of the same program series that have not yet been watched by the user. The media guidance application may determine that multiple media assets are part of the same program series, and which of the media assets was recorded latest. The media guidance application may then select a play position within the later-recorded media asset and insert an advertisement at the selected play position.

  • Patent number: 12231712
Abstract: A moving image distribution server 12 transfers, by streaming, data of a plurality of moving images representing the same space. A moving image reproduction apparatus 10 separates audio data from any one of the moving images and outputs the audio data after a predetermined period of delay. The moving image reproduction apparatus 10 also separates image data from another moving image and outputs the image data in synchronization with audio. When a user performs an image switching operation, the moving image reproduction apparatus 10 acquires data of a moving image that has been switched from another moving image, separates image data therefrom, and starts outputting the image data given the same PTS as the audio data continuously being output.

  • Patent number: 12206945
Abstract: An electronic device for generation of recommendations using trust-based embeddings is provided. The electronic device determines first correlation information of a first set of users associated with a first domain. The electronic device generates, based on the first correlation information, a first vector indicating a trust embedding of a first user with respect to the first set of users, in the first domain. The electronic device receives second correlation information associated with a second set of users associated with a second domain. The electronic device utilizes a Graph Attention Network model for the second correlation information to generate a second vector indicative of a trust embedding of the first user, with respect to the second set of users, in the second domain. The electronic device applies a recommendation model on the first vector and the second vector to recommend one or more items to the first user.

  • Patent number: 12200284
Abstract: Systems, devices, and automated processes allow automatic replacement of advertisements or other content in media programs. A content management system, another computer system, or the like operating on a digital network receives indicia from playback devices that have encountered identified advertisements in a media program. The encounters may be recorded in a database for subsequent analysis. If desired, for example if the identified advertisement become saturated for a viewer or particular playback device, the advertisements may be replaced with more relevant or engaging advertisements prior to playback of the advertisement to the viewer, thereby allowing a fresher, more relevant and more engaging experience for the viewer.
