Abstract: Systems and techniques for creating reusable digital signage at a central computing device and deploying the reusable digital signage from the central computing device to multiple remote display devices include creating a first channel and a second channel at a central computing device. A first set of multiple digital assets are assigned to the first channel and a second set of multiple digital assets are assigned to the second channel. A schedule for display of the first channel and the second channel is created, where the schedule includes timing information for display of the first channel and for display of the second channel. The schedule is assigned to the multiple remote display devices. A single file of the first channel and the second channel is generated for deployment to the multiple remote display devices including the schedule as metadata in the single file.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and embodiments related to streaming live video. A celebrity plans to live stream an interaction with a fan to a large number of her fans. The celebrity uses a device to capture and stream live video to her fans. The celebrity selects a fan and begins to interact with the fan, who uses a device to live stream a question. To enable a more natural interaction, the celebrity utilizes a platform with reduced latency of communication. With other platforms, latencies of between 6 to 30 seconds may occur in interactions between the celebrity and the fan. The platform utilizes one or more techniques to achieve reduced latency, such as not performing error checks on the live streamed data, not reordering packets while they are being relayed between devices, etc. A TCP tunnel that utilizes raw sockets is used to enable customized techniques for reducing communication latency.

Abstract: Method, systems, and computer-readable media are provided to facilitate content discovery based on augmented context. A first set of images of a graphical display may be acquired and analyzed to identify visual characteristics of an object represented. Attributes of the object may be identified. Specifications may be transmitted to the television receiver and/or a remote data source in order to pull matching information. A user-selectable interface element may be generated for presentation as an option to take an action relating to the object represented. A visual output of the interface element may be output as an overlay on the first set and/or a second set of images displayed by the computing device. A user selection responsive to the outputting of the visual output of the at interface element may be processed. A communication may be transmitted to the television receiver to cause the action responsive to the user selection.

Abstract: Methods and devices are provided to facilitate acquisition of information associated with a multimedia content through embedded watermarks. One such method includes obtaining a server code for embedding into a content. The server code identifies a particular domain name registered to a registrant entity and provides a mapping to an Internet address of a metadata server. Upon receiving an indication that a trigger event is associated with a particular segment of the content, a first watermark payload is formed and embedded in the content. The watermark payload includes the server code, an interval code and a first trigger value. The interval code identifies the particular content segment and the first trigger value indicates that additional information associated with the particular segment is. Detection of the first trigger value from a subsequently distributed content enables a query to the metadata server for acquisition of metadata.

Abstract: An information processing system includes a video processing device that processes video data including a plurality of frames, and a transmission device that transmits video data, to be processed by the video processing device, to the connected video processing device. The video processing device stores some frames constituting the video data, and the transmission device stores the remaining frames of the video data not stored in the video processing device.

Abstract: Auxiliary or enhanced features associated with broadcast television programs are activated using carrier-based active text enhancement (CATE) signals embedded within timed text (TT) associated with the broadcast program. The active text enhancements can be interpreted by the viewer's set top box (STB) or other receiver to activate software applications, video clips, imagery, uniform resource locators (URLs), interactive interface features or the like on either or both of primary or secondary displays. Timed text enhancements can flexibly reference different types of content to provide richer and more powerful viewer experiences for the viewer.

Abstract: A device can receive, from a user device, a request for content in a target format for playback. The device can determine information identifying the content in a source format based on the request for content associated with the target format. The device can request the content in the source format using the information identifying the content in the source format. The device can receive the content from a content source in the source format based on requesting the content in the source format. The device can convert the content in the source format to generate a set of files associated with the target format. The device can provide the set of files in the target format to a content delivery network associated with the user device.

Abstract: A transmission method includes generating one or more frames for content transfer using IP (Internet Protocol) packets, and transmitting the one or more generated frames by broadcast. Each of the one or more frames contains a plurality of second transfer units, each of the plurality of second transfer units contains one or more first transfer units, and each of the one or more first transfer units contains at least one of the IP packets. An object IP packet of the IP packets which is stored in a first transfer unit positioned at a head in the one or more frames contains reference clock information that indicates time for reproduction of the content in data structure different from data structure of an MMT (MPEG Media Transport) packet, and header compression processing on the object IP packet is omitted.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a receiving device, a receiving method, a broadcasting device, a broadcasting method, a program, and a link application control system allowing control of receiving device control functions of a link app on the broadcasting side. A link application control system according to a third aspect of the present disclosure includes the broadcasting device that has a supply unit for supplying to the receiving device application control information concerning a link application executable with reception of the contents by the receiving device, and the receiving device that has an application executing unit for executing a link application that may refer to an image of the received contents and change a layout of a screen, and an application control unit for controlling the application executing unit based on the application control information to limit an action of the link application. The present disclosure is applicable to a television broadcasting system.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method that includes receiving a satellite signal, measuring a quality of the satellite signal, determining whether the quality of the satellite signal falls below a threshold, determining a scheduled content of the satellite signal being viewed responsive to determining the quality of the satellite signal falls below the threshold, obtaining the scheduled content through a network connection as a replacement scheduled content responsive to determining the quality of the satellite signal falls below the threshold, presenting the replacement scheduled content in place of the scheduled content from the satellite signal, monitoring the quality of the satellite signal during the presenting of the replacement channel, and presenting the scheduled content from the satellite signal responsive to the monitoring detecting a satisfactory quality of the satellite signal over a predetermined period of time. Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, generating narrative descriptions corresponding to visual features, visual events, and interactions there between for media content, where the narrative descriptions are associated with time stamps of the media content, and presenting the media content and an audio reproduction of the narrative descriptions, wherein the audio reproduction is synchronized to video of the media content according to the time stamps. Abstract: The video processing system provides for automatic selection of video sequences showing goals in a video stream from cameras directed at a playing field. Classification is applied to image content from different foreground positions in an image. The set of classes comprising a first and second class corresponding players of different teams. Medians or averages of the image positions of the local image content assigned to the first and second class are determined. A condition is tested whether the results are on mutually opposite sides of a reference position and a distance between collected positions or distances between the reference position and the first and second collected positions exceed a threshold value. When the test shows that the condition is met, a preceding video sequence is selected, for example for display.

Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method including presenting a playlist of media content generated by a predictive model of preferences of a user of a system based on first prior media consumption associated with a subscription television service and second prior media consumption associated with an internet-based service, receiving a first selection of first media content from the playlist, presenting a menu of viewing devices for viewing the first media content, receiving a second selection of a first companion device for the first media content from the menu of viewing devices, transmitting the first selection and the second selection to a content provider, receiving the first media content from the content provider, and presenting the first media content. The content provider can transmit, to the first companion device, supplementary content, including internet-based content associated with the first media content, for presentation at a display.

Abstract: A method of providing a broadcast content, comprising: receiving a broadcast content from an external input source, the broadcast content derived from a broadcast stream, wherein the broadcast content includes a plurality of watermarks carrying fragments of full watermark information, wherein the full watermark information includes first URL data and second URL data, the first URL data including signaling bits which identify a portion of a final URL, the second URL data including the rest of the final URL, wherein values of the signaling bits are pre-assigned to specific URL strings, wherein the full watermark information further includes type information and point information, the type information specifying type of a corresponding watermark, and the point information identifying where the corresponding watermark is embedded in the broadcast content; extracting the watermarks from the broadcast content; re-assembling the full watermark information using the watermarks.

Abstract: A server remote from client device executes an HTML-based virtual client application. Using the HTML-based virtual client application, the server renders an image corresponding to a video frame. The rendered image includes HTML commands. The server generates an HTML wrapper for the rendered image. Generating the HTML wrapper includes converting the HTML commands to HTML primitives that are selected from a subset of available HTML commands. The server sends the HTML wrapper to the client device to be processed by an HTML-based application on the client device to enable the image to be displayed.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for monitoring locally inserted media are disclosed. A disclosed system for detecting locally inserted media includes a tag encoder and a media monitoring device at a media presentation location. The tag encoder is to associate an identifying tag with a segment of a media stream carrying local media that was spliced into a primary media stream after the primary media stream was received by an editing station of a media distributor. The media monitoring device is to: detect presentation of the media stream; determine that the segment is local media that was spliced into the primary media stream based on changes in the media stream indicative of transitions between primary media and local media, the changes including changes in identifying tags; and store an indication to credit presentation of the media and to indicate that the media stream includes locally inserted media.

Abstract: A video server comprising an input port configured to receive from a user terminal requests to deliver video segments in a target representation. The server comprises an output port configured to deliver the requested video segments to the user terminal. The server comprises a data link configured to retrieve from storage capabilities, for each request from the user terminal, a video segment in at least one source representation in an Open GOP scheme. The server comprises an access to one or more video transcoding capabilities. The video server is configured to cause one or more video transcoding capabilities to transcode at least a part of the video segment in at least one source representation in an Open GOP scheme into the requested target representation in a Closed GOP scheme when the requested target representation is different from a representation previously provided to the user terminal.

The computer determines at least one digital characteristic of a first media content item of the two or more media content items does not match at least one digital characteristic of a second media content item of the two or more media content items. The computer resamples the first media content item of the two or more media content items. The computer publishes a composition of the two or more media content items to appear as one linked asset with uniform digital characteristics.

Abstract: A service providing method based on user operation behavior including determining whether a current service interface provides a valid service according to received operation information; and when the valid service is not provided, performing the following operation: providing a preset service for a user when a preset service trigger condition is met. The present disclosure also provides a service providing apparatus based on user operation behavior. By use of the method provided in the present disclosure, the techniques of the present disclosure relatively accurately identify whether the user is in a browsing state without a determined target, and timely provide a preset service for the user, thereby increasing user loyalty of a user service system and improving use experience of the user.
