  • Patent number: 11764867
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus for communicating a satellite behavior change. In one aspect, a satellite identifies a satellite behavior change to occur for the satellite of a non-terrestrial network for cellular communications. The apparatus also signals the satellite behavior change to a user equipment serviced by the satellite. In another aspect, a user equipment obtains, from a satellite servicing the user equipment, a signaling of a satellite behavior change to occur for the satellite. The user equipment also adjusts one or more user equipment parameters for cellular communication based on the obtained signaling. The satellite behavior change may include a satellite attitude or a transmit power or coverage area of one or more satellite beams. The user equipment parameters may include satellite or beam selection or reselection to listen to paging information, satellite or beam handover parameters, or transmit power control parameters.

  • Patent number: 11743832
Abstract: Transmit power control methods and apparatus are disclosed. In several embodiments, a mobile terminal is configured to effectively ignore “UP” transmit power control commands in the event that the mobile terminal is operating in a power-limited state. In an exemplary method for controlling transmit power at a mobile terminal, a plurality of transmit power control commands are received. An accumulated power control value is adjusted in response to each transmit power control command that directs a negative adjustment in transmit power. However, the accumulated power control value is adjusted in response to a transmit power control command that directs a positive adjustment in transmit power only if the mobile terminal is not in a power-limited state. Transmit power settings for each transmission are calculated based on the accumulated power control value and the one or more radio link parameters.

  • Patent number: 11716058
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for a multiclass, broadband, no-load-modulation power amplifier are described. The power amplifier (500) may include a main amplifier (532) operating in a first amplification class and a plurality of peaking amplifiers (536, 537, 538) operating in a second amplification class. The main amplifier (532) and peaking amplifiers (536, 537, 538) may operate in parallel on portions of signals derived from an input signal to be amplified. The main amplifier (532) may see no modulation of its load impedance between a fully-on state of the power amplifier (all amplifiers amplifying) and a fully backed-off state (peaking amplifiers idle). By avoiding load modulation, the power amplifier (500) can exhibit improved bandwidth and efficiency compared to conventional Doherty amplifiers.

  • Patent number: 11708180
Abstract: The embodiments herein provide a system and method for integrated optimization of design and performance of satellite constellations. The present disclosure provides a method for optimization of design and performance of satellite constellation to provide internet connectivity at preset geographic regions. In current methods, the optimizations of subsystems are performed independently and the results are combined, resulting in a loss of overall optimality. The present disclosure defines the relationships between subsystems such that integrity of complete design is tested with fewer complexities and provides an integrated optimization framework, in which every subsystem is optimized individually and collectively. The present disclosure provides a method for optimization of power subsystem of satellites by determining the pattern of payload operation and need for peak power.

  • Patent number: 11700584
Abstract: A method and system for controlling application of MU-MIMO. The disclosure provides for considering a device's power class as a basis to decide whether to provide the device with MU-MIMO service. For instance, a base station could determine which of the base station's served devices that are threshold distant from the base station are each a high power device rather than a lower power device. And on at least that basis, the base station could select each such device to receive MU-MIMO service. Or faced with a choice between devices to receive MU-MIMO service, the base station could compare the devices' power classes and could select the devices that have higher power class to receive MU-MIMO service.

  • Patent number: 11671191
Abstract: A low cost DAB multichannel receiver comprising a simplified buffering method for buffering content segments from multiple streams contained within the DAB channel, where the receiver enables the listener to navigate buffered content segments from multiple streams within the DAB channel while enabling the broadcaster to control the timeshift of commercial content to the receiver output stream. The receiver's buffered content grows over time and is cleared when tuning away from the channel, thus encouraging listeners desiring to tune in to new content to instead navigate to new buffered segments. Broadcaster control of the listener experience may be enabled by setting content control fields which are observed in the broadcast by the multichannel receivers. Additional embodiments are disclosed.
