Abstract: Disclosed is a recommendation method and device. The method comprises acquiring a user's Internet service sequence, a user preference vector for Internet services, and an attribute vector for Internet services identified in the user's Internet service sequence each of the foregoing based on user network behavior data generated when the user accesses the Internet services; calculating user preference scores for one or more candidate Internet service providers, wherein the user preferences scores are calculated based on the user's Internet service sequence, the user preference vector for the Internet services, the attribute vector for the Internet services, and Internet service lists provided by the candidate Internet service providers; and sending a recommendation of potential users to the candidate Internet service providers based on the user preference scores for the candidate Internet service providers.

Abstract: Methods and systems analyze historical NXD traffic to predict future DNS traffic. In one embodiment, a system may count NXD responses generated by an Authoritative DNS server during a particular time period and calculate the variance in NXD traffic for domains over time. The system may then generate a coefficient of variance (CoV) value for each domain observed. Finally, the system may predict positive domain traffic based upon the calculated CoV data. In other embodiments, the system may also base the prediction on the classification of domains as “original” domains or “re-registered” domains. In another embodiment, the system may also base the prediction on the “size” of name servers. Additionally, or alternatively, the system may determine the number of unique name servers for a domain and base the prediction on the number of unique name servers for a particular domain name.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to methods and systems to evaluate resource allocation costs of a data center. Methods and systems compute resource allocation costs of a cloud computing industry to obtain industry benchmarks that are compared with the resource allocation costs of the data center. The comparisons enable IT managers to objectively identify computational resource shortages, resource over investments, and where future investment in computational resources should be made for the data center.

Abstract: Facilitating an individualized interaction between a mobile computing device and an electronic device is provided. A mobile computing device may be utilized to receive an identity of the electronic device. The identity of the electronic device and other data may then be sent from the mobile computing device to a server. An individualized interaction may then be initiated via a previously established communication session between the server and the electronic device. The individualized interaction initiated in response to a determination that the mobile computing device is proximate to the electronic device.

Abstract: Systems and method are provided for testing an infrastructure. The infrastructure may include one or more computers connected by a network. Moreover, each of the computers may include an agent. In one embodiment, the method includes receiving, at a controller, a test request to perform at least one of a plurality of predetermined tests, the predetermined test including one or more parameters associated with performing the predetermined test and one or more expected results from performing the predetermined test. The method further includes determining whether the predetermined test is available at one of the computers. The method also includes sending, by the controller, the predetermined test to one of the computers based on the results of the determining step, such that the agent at the computer performs the predetermined test sent by the controller. Furthermore, the method includes receiving, at the controller, one or more results of the predetermined test performed by the agent at the computer.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed that provide more accurate clustering of devices by forming clusters of devices and merging or changing clusters based on predetermined criteria. The technique starts with a large number of clusters (e.g., one for each account) and refines the clusters, for example, by merging clusters or determining which cluster a given device should be in when the device is associated with multiple clusters. One technique iteratively adjusts clusters of devices by merging clusters determined to be associated with a single user until a cluster contains all of the devices and accounts expected to be associated with a single user.

Abstract: In a distributed network environment, a first virtual machine sends a first virtual machine control information to a first network system. The first network system sends a first control information to a first network control system in response to receiving the first virtual machine control information. The first network control system sends a portion of the first control information to a number of network systems. The first network control system sends a second control information to the first network system. The first virtual machine sends a first packet to the first network system which generates a unicast packet using a portion of the first packet and a portion of the second control information. A second network system receives and processes the unicast packet. The second network system sends a copy of the processed unicast packet to a second virtual machine associated with a second tenant.

Abstract: A comparison service provider receives, from each of plural object-related information management servers, image information items representing unique patterns included in surfaces of objects and identification information items of the objects, stores the image information items and the identification information items received, receives from a user device an image information item representing the unique pattern included in the surface of the object, identifies one of the identification information items stored based on the image information item received, and transmits to the user device the identification information item identified or a related information item of the object stored in the object-related information management server as related to the identification information item identified.

Abstract: A computer may provide, in a rendered and displayed browser, access to a cloud services related portal. Access may also be provided to a dynamic graphical widget in the portal. The dynamic graphical widget may be related to a cloud service and be customizable via the browser. The computer may receive a user input to cause movement of the dynamic graphical widget from a docked to undocked displayed position in the browser.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention is directed to a system with multiple computing hosts each having a hypervisor to provide a virtual environment for the host and one or more containers each including a database instance and at least one database. These databases, and the database instance can be provided as a service to a user of a multi-tenant environment.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a load balancing-capable application container at a first network endpoint comprises an analysis component, a communicator component, and a user application, the user application comprising a first portion containing one or more functions executable by either the first network endpoint or a second network endpoint and a second portion containing one or more functions executable by the first network endpoint but not the second network endpoint. The user application is executed, causing invocation of a first function in the first portion. One or more metrics are obtained from the first network endpoint and the second network endpoint. A real-time aggregate score for the first function is calculated based on the one or more metrics. It is then determined whether to execute the first function on the first network endpoint or the second network endpoint based on a comparison of the real-time aggregate score to a threshold.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for generating geocoded user information is disclosed. The method comprises searching user data across multiple different data corpuses for entries having location-related information and determining locations for the location-related information. The method further comprises generating a map showing a current location of a mobile device along with representations of the entries having location-related information, at the determined locations, for entries from the multiple different data corpuses.

Abstract: A Native Client-based remote display client can efficiently perform multimedia redirection by routing un-rendered multimedia content to browser code executing outside the sandbox in which the remote display client is executed. In this way, a remote display client implemented as a Native Client module will not be limited to using the APIs available within the sandbox to render the multimedia content. The Native Client module can communicate with the browser code to provide parameters necessary for the browser code to submit a web-based request to the Native Client module via localhost to thereby obtain the multimedia content via one or more web-based communications.

Abstract: In response to a request, one of primary content data as a copyrighted work and incidental content data is received from a server. With a music editing and sharing application, the content data is used in a secondary usage fashion for editing in order to produce new incidental content data. The incidental content data is not the one that is produced by arranging directly the primary content data as an editing material but play control information for giving an instruction defining a play mode. The incidental content data is uploaded to an incidental content server.
