Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid formulation which allows long-acting EPO conjugates, that have improved in vivo duration and stability, to be stable when stored for a long period of time. It comprises a stabilizer composition characterized by buffer and mannitol. Being free of human serum albumin and other potential factors harmful to the body, the liquid formulation is free of concerns about viral infections and guarantees excellent storage stability to long-acting EPO conjugates.

Abstract: The intrinsically disordered sequences—or “intrinsically disorded sequences” or IDSeq—proteins should be flexible to ensure a controlled interaction between proteins. In the development of the diseases, IDSeq are modified and polymerized. The invention describes the method of preparation of the drugs against cancers, the degenerative diseases and the infectious illness, by the induction of an immune reaction against IDSeq modified in a covalent way (IDSeqC) and polymerized (pIDSeqC), and leading to a new network of protein signaling, named here “misfoldome”, causing the diseases. The invention describes the preparation of vaccines by the use of polymers of IDSeqC. Peptides of the pIDSeqC are prepared in vitro, and introduced into a living organism to induce an immunological response, which eliminates the “misfoldome” and cures the diseases. The method is employed for the preparation of active or passive vaccines.
Abstract: This invention relates to novel protein conjugates, in particular, to novel pegylated proteins, and their methods of making and use. One aspect of the present invention relates to pegylated-erythropoietin having greater clinical efficacy and stability during shipment and storage than current erythropoietin formulations.

Abstract: Polypeptides comprising at least one carboxy-terminal peptide (CTP) of chorionic gonadotrophin attached to the carboxy terminus but not to the amino terminus of a coagulation factor and polynucleotides encoding the same are disclosed. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the polypeptides and polynucleotides of the invention and methods of using and producing same are also disclosed.
Abstract: High-specificity antibodies can distinguish between modified (e.g, hIGF-1/Ea 3mut) and endogenous wild-type human IGF-1 proteins. These antibodies have little or no cross-reactivity with hIGF-1 or hIGF-2. They also have little or no cross-reactivity with rodent IGF-1 or IGF-2. The antibodies can be used in pharmacokinetic (PK)/pharamcodynamic (PD) assessments of IGF-1/E peptides that have been administered to humans or animals. A sandwich ELISA assay, using the antibody of the invention as a capture antibody, can quantify the mutant IGF-1/E proteins in samples.

Abstract: A novel group of gastrokines called Gastric Antrum Mucosal Protein is characterized. A member of the group is designated AMP-18. AMP-18 genomic DNA, cDNA and the AMP-18 protein are sequenced for human, mouse and pig. The AMP-18 protein and active peptides derived from it are cellular growth factors. Surprisingly, peptides capable of inhibiting the effects of the complete protein, are also derived from the AMP-18 protein. Cytoprotection and control of mammalian gastro-intestinal tissue growth and repair (restitution) is facilitated by the use of the proteins, making the proteins candidates for therapies in inflammatory bowel disease, mucositis, and gastric ulcers.
