  • Patent number: 10722606
Abstract: Provided are a method and device for producing negative oxygen ions, and a method and device for purifying air. Said method for producing negative oxygen ions comprises: respectively introducing air and water into an air-water reactor so that the introduced air and water reach a relative movement speed of not less than 20 m/s in said air-water reactor and react within said air-water reactor so as to produce negative oxygen ions; and separating the air containing the negative oxygen ions after the reaction from the water after the reaction, and releasing the air containing the negative oxygen ions after the reaction into a required space. Said method and device can produce a large number of negative oxygen ions and purified air with a high efficiency at a low cost, without producing any harmful substances such as ozone and oxynitrides, and are long-acting and free of maintenance.

  • Patent number: 10702618
Abstract: In an example, a method of operating a UV light source for a vehicle includes measuring an amount of power on a commodity power feeder, determining when the measured amount of power is greater than a threshold amount of power and, responsively, actuating a switch to a first state in which the switch decouples the UV light source from the power on the commodity power feeder. The method also includes determining when the measured amount of power is less than the threshold amount of power and responsively actuating the switch to a second state in which the switch couples the UV light source to the power on the commodity power feeder. The method also includes, while the switch is in the second state, activating the UV light source, using the power from the commodity power feeder, to emit UV light in the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10632220
Abstract: A biological indicator with variable resistance may be controlled by moving a cap or housing of the biological indicator to cause the size of vents that allow flow of sterilant through the housing to decrease or increase in effective size. An indicator window may show a user the current resistance of the biological indicator, and may also show a readable indicator that may be captured by a scanner to allow a sterilizing cabinet to identify the current resistance. When the level of resistance shown by the readable indicator is not compatible with a sterilization cycle selected by a user, the procedure may be delayed and a notification provided to the user that a problem exists. The readable indicator may be a passive tag with a memory that allows information to be read and written, so that the biological indicator may carry data from one device to another.
