Abstract: A computing system comprises, in one example, a display system, a portal hierarchy model have a plurality of nodes arranged in hierarchical parent/child relationships, each node representing a set of one or more portals and having associated portal configuration data, and a portal rendering system configured to detect a user request to render content in a given one of the portals and to obtain a set of portal configuration data for the given portal by identifying a first node in the portal hierarchy model that represents the given portal and traversing the portal hierarchy model from the first node to a second node that is a parent of the first node. The computing system also includes a display system controller configured to control the display system to generate portal user interface displays based on the set of portal configuration data.

Abstract: A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium may comprise instructions stored thereon. When executed by at least one processor, the instructions may be configured to cause a computing device to implement at least a user interface module and a coordinator module. The user interface module may be configured to pass layout constraints to the coordinator module. The coordinator module may be configured to process input received by the computing device, recognize gestures based on the input, update a display based on the recognized gestures and the layout constraints passed to the coordinator module by the user interface module, and in response to recognizing an application-specific gesture, pass the application-specific gesture to the user interface module.

Abstract: Embodiments provide functionality to provide electronic calendar features and functionalities including personal note-taking features on calendar items, but the embodiments are not so limited. In an embodiment, a computer-based method can be configured to provide a personal note-taking space that enables users to take personal notes on appointment or meeting items with or without sharing the personal notes. Other embodiments are included.

Abstract: A portable terminal device has enclosures with a movable portion, a display section that displays visible information showing an operation target area, and a touch sensor that detects a position on a display screen of the display section touched by a user's finger, or the like. A shape detection section detects a change in the shape of the enclosure; an input operation management section manages a position detected by the touch sensor and an operation target area of each of pieces of visible information displayed on the display section in an associated manner; and a display control section automatically makes a change to at least display positions of the respective pieces of visible information about the operation target displayed on the display section in accordance with a change in shape of the enclosure detected by the shape detection section.

Abstract: Method and apparatus are disclosed for mobile device interface for trailer backup-assist. An example vehicle system includes a vehicle and a mobile device. The mobile device includes a touchscreen, a communication module, and a controller. The controller is to present, via the touchscreen, an interface for trailer backup-assist and detect a swipe when the interface is presented. The controller also is to instruct, via the communication module, the vehicle to move in a direction corresponding to the swipe and continue to instruct the vehicle to move in the direction while detecting a continuous orbital motion extending from the swipe.

Abstract: Techniques for visual configuration and activation are described. Techniques discussed herein enable visuals to be presented to a user based on a user-specific visual configuration. The visuals are activated such that the visuals are selectable to access various functionalities. In at least some embodiments, a visualization that represents a user-specific visual configuration is provided to and displayed on a device. The visualization includes inactive visuals that are activated based on various considerations.

Abstract: An interactive preview of a content within a communication is provided. An application such as a communication application retrieves metadata of a content from a content provider, in response to a detection of an insertion of a link of the content into a message. An interactive preview of the content is generated based on the metadata. The interactive preview provides actions to manage the interactive preview and the content. The interactive preview is inserted into the message in proximity to the link. Custom operations associated with the actions are executed in response to a transmission of the message.

Abstract: To provide synergy between spatial and qualitative information in a single display, a client computing device displays a schematic representation of geographic entities that includes qualitative information about each geographic entity. The geographic entities may be portions of a geographic area which are organized spatially in the schematic. While each geographic entity may have a different size or geometry, the geographic entities are displayed within same sized geographic information cards. The geographic information cards are also traversable by a user through panning from one geographic information card to the next or zooming in and out of different views of the geographic information cards.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method for algorithmic modeling interface (“AMI”) model development. Embodiments may include enabling a selection from a plurality of templates associated with an advanced equalization algorithm at a graphical user interface. Embodiments may further include receiving a selection of at least one of the plurality of templates at the graphical user interface and displaying a selected template at the graphical user interface. Abstract: An AIS information display device comprises an information acquisition component, an icon generator, and a display component. The information acquisition component acquires bearing information, which is information about the bearing of other targets with respect to the position of the host vessel. The icon generator uses an icon-use host vessel symbol S3 and one other target symbol S2 to generate an icon 19 that indicates the relative bearings of the host vessel and another target. The display component displays the icon 19 generated by the icon generator. Consequently, a ship display device can be provided which makes every target easy to understand, even when there are many other targets around the host vessel.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for accentuating candidate characters of strings relating to promotional content. To this end, a media guidance application may receive user input of a character through a user interface. The media guidance application may identify a plurality of strings that the character could be used to achieve, compare each string of the plurality of strings to entries of a promotional database, and identify, based on the comparing, a string that is designated as a promotional string. The media guidance application may then determine a next character of the promotional string, and may accentuate a portion of the user interface that corresponds to the next character.

Abstract: An electronic device and a method are provided for controlling volume. The electronic device includes a touch screen including a main area on a front surface of the electronic device and an auxiliary area formed on a side of the main area; and a controller configured to detect a touch area contacted on the auxiliary area in a call mode, to determine the auxiliary area as a volume control area based on the touch area, and to control volume according to a touch event input in the volume control area.
