  • Patent number: 7990367
Abstract: An on-vehicle manipulating system includes a manipulating device having a housing, a first side pushbutton switch disposed at one side of the housing, a second side pushbutton switch disposed at the other side of the housing and an additional switch disposed at a prescribed portion of the housing and a control unit for setting a first function to one of the first and second pushbutton switches and a second function to the other pushbutton switch. In this manipulating system, the control unit changes the function of the first or second side pushbutton switch from the first function such as an ENTER key to the second function, such as a RETURN key, and the function of the other pushbutton switch, such as a MENU key, from the second function to the first function when one of the pushbutton switches being set to change the function is operated subsequent to the other pushbutton switch that has been set the second function is operated in a prescribed period after the additional switch is operated.

  • Patent number: 7880101
Abstract: A single pole, double throw, self-canceling rotary switch for selectively coupling a first circuit to a second or a third circuit by rotating a rotary element to couple or decouple electrical contacts. The rotary switch includes first and second pawls pivotally attached to the rotary element and coupled to one another by a spring. Rotation of the rotary element causes a ramp cam to act on one of the pawls, causing it to pivot, and thereby causing the spring to exert a force on the other pawl, moving a tooth on the other pawl into the locus of rotation of a central shaft that includes a groove. Rotation of the central shaft in one direction has no effect on the position of the rotary element, but rotation of the central shaft in the other direction engages the groove and the tooth, causing the rotary element to decouple the contacts.

  • Patent number: 7367840
Abstract: A RF microwave connector for telecommunication has a central terminal with a guiding groove and a fixing groove. The diameter of the cross section of the guiding groove is larger than the diameter of an inner wire of a coaxial cable and the diameter of the cross section of the upper end of the fixing groove is smaller than the diameter of the inner wire. The inner wire is thrust in the fixing groove by the walls of the fixing groove to cause the combination of the central terminal and the inner wire to be more stable and the connector to have better signal transmission quality by thrusting the inner wire into the fixing groove.

  • Patent number: 7128431
Abstract: The invention relates to a display device, especially in a motor vehicle, comprising a display (2) which can be illuminated by a light source (1), and a light guide (7) which is arranged between the light source (1) and the display (2). Said light source (1) comprises a plurality of individual light sources (10), the entire light-radiating surface of said light sources being larger than the surface of the display (2). In order to increase the light efficiency, the light guide (7) comprises, on the light source side, individual light guiding sections (12) which are associated with the individual light sources (10), said sections forming a common light guiding section (13) on the display side.

  • Patent number: 6516985
Abstract: A load carrier which consists of a load carrier strut which, at each end region, has a foot with a support portion and a clamping portion for securing the load carrier transversely over a vehicle roof. At at least one end portion of the load carrier strut, the foot is displaced within a displacement range. By means of a rotary shaft disposed interiorly in the load carrier strut, the clamping portion is maneuverable between an open position and a locking position for securing the load carrier on the vehicle. Suitably, one rotary shaft is provided in each end region of the load carrier strut. In the open position of the clamping portion, the foot is freely movable within its displacement range. The foot is fixable in any optional position within its displacement range by fixing means extending into the interior of the load carrier strut for operation via the rotary shaft.

  • Patent number: 6504122
Abstract: A push-button type switch includes a box with a button movably inserted in the box and a movable member has a U-shaped guide member which has an end engaged with an enclosed recessed area in the button. The movable member can be operationally connected with a bimetal plate or the like to move the movable member when override. The movement of the movable member leads the leg of the U-shaped guide member to move within the inner periphery of the recessed area so as to move the button upward.

  • Patent number: 6319064
Abstract: A modular jack has an insulative insert having outer walls defining a first recess therein. The insert is mounted within an insulating housing interior section. A cap having outer walls defining a second recess therein is mounted within the insert first recess so that the first and second recesses together form an internal cavity for receiving an electrical device. First and second elongate portions of a conductive contact together securely grasp the insert outer wall and a bridging portion of the contact resides at the insert outer wall edge. The cap also has a rear wall having a rear face that faces in a rear direction, and the contact also has a rear portion adjacent the cap and facing in the rear direction. The cap rear wall rear face extends farther in the rear direction than the contact rear portion. A grounding shield fits over the jack and has a planar rear panel with a rear face that faces in the rear direction. The rear panel covers the cap rear wall rear face and the contact rear portion.

  • Patent number: 6280233
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing formed of electrical insulating material containing a chamber in which is mounted a resilient clamping member that biases a conductor into electrical engagement with an electrical contact also contained within the chamber. The bare end of the conductor is inserted into the chamber via a first housing opening, and the clamping member is operated to a released condition relative to the conductor by a release tool that is inserted into the chamber via a second housing opening. The clamping member includes a clamping leg having a laterally offset terminal portion that carries a clamping edge adapted to dig into the conductor and thereby retain the same within the chamber. The clamping member also includes a support leg that is operable by the release tool to displace the clamping leg to disengage the clamping edge from the conductor, thereby to release the same for withdrawal from the chamber.
