Abstract: An information processing apparatus connected to a print apparatus via a network, comprises: receiving unit configured to receive a plurality of jobs; determination unit configured to determine a priority level of each of the plurality of jobs in an order in which jobs are sent to the print apparatus, based on information of a post-processing step which corresponds to each of the plurality of jobs and is performed after the plurality of jobs are printed by the print apparatus; and sending unit configured to send the plurality of jobs to the print apparatus in accordance with the priority levels in which jobs are sent, which are determined by the determination unit.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a designation unit configured, in printing each of input first and second data by using a spot color printing material, to designate a spot color effect achieved by using the spot color printing material, a first determination unit configured to determine a paper attribute for implementing the designated spot color effect for the first data, a second determination unit configured, to determine a paper attribute for implementing the designated spot color effect for the second data, a setting unit configured to execute a setting of a print appearance for printing the first and the second data on one sheet, and sheet determination unit configured to determine a sheet having the attribute determined by the first and the second determination unit as a sheet onto which the first and the second data is to be printed according to the set print appearance.

In an image forming apparatus, a program executing section judges whether the image forming apparatus meets identification information described in a license key stated in activating data in activating key file when executing Java program serving as option program, and executes the Java program in the case that the image forming apparatus meets the identification information.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus that makes it easy for a user to input an image from an image input apparatus. The information processing apparatus executes a search script received from a server apparatus to thereby obtain identification information for identifying the image input apparatus, transfers the identification information to the server apparatus, and executes a scan script sent from the server apparatus in reply to the identification information to thereby display a scan setting screen. The information processing apparatus transmits to the server apparatus a scan setting message when scan settings are made on the screen, receives a scan job message transmitted from the server apparatus in reply to the scan setting message, gives a scan job command to the image input apparatus to cause the image input apparatus to execute scanning, and transfers image data received from the image input apparatus to the server apparatus.

Abstract: A printing control apparatus controls an order of processing executed by a printing apparatus for print jobs included in a first print job group and print jobs included in a second print job group. A detection unit detects a first and second print job included in the first print job group, wherein the second print job has common paper information with the first print job. A control unit arranges processing orders of the detected first and second print jobs to be successive to each other, and arranges a processing order, within the second print job group, of a third print job, which is included in the second print job group and is grouped by a predetermined category together with the first print job, to be equivalent to the processing order of the first print job within the first print job group.

Abstract: In a proxy device, the processor functions as a requesting unit, and a sending unit. When the receiving unit receives, from the terminal device, reservation data including reservation instruction data that instructs making a reservation to output the image by the outputting device and first outputting-device identification data for identifying the outputting device, and the receiving unit receives, from the outputting device identified by the first outputting-device identification data, first request data that requests image data, the requesting unit transmits, to the terminal device, second request data requesting one of the image data and acquiring data for acquiring the image data. When the receiving unit receives one of the image data and the acquiring data from the terminal device, the sending unit sends one of the image data received from the terminal device and image data acquired based on the acquiring data, to the outputting device.

Abstract: In a case where it is determined after reading an original that an abnormal pixel is included in image data generated by reading the original, after the original is reversed by a reversing unit for re-reading of the original by a reading unit, the original is conveyed to a reading position of the reading unit and image data generated by the re-reading of the reading unit is corrected.

Abstract: A document reading section includes a document load table, a document load tray, a first document receiving tray, a linear conveyance path, a first guide member and a first reading section. The linear conveyance path, inclining downward from the document load tray, reaches the first document receiving tray. The first guide member is disposed in the linear conveyance path, and its top surface inclines downward along the linear conveyance path toward a downstream side in a document conveying direction in relation to the document load table. The first guide member is disposed in such a manner that part of its top surface intersects with a plane containing a top surface of the document load table.

Abstract: Disclosed is a printer driver which acquires a file in which a printing condition has been stored, creates a print job based on the file, and instructs printing. The driver includes a first function which reads out the printing condition stored in the file, a second function which determines whether the file has been acquired from an external apparatus, and a third function which, (1) when it has been determined that the file has been acquired from an external apparatus, (1-1) checks with a user whether to change the printing condition, (1-2) displays a screen for setting the printing condition, or (1-3) sets a default printing condition in the print job, and (2) when it has been determined that the file has not been acquired from an external apparatus, sets in the print job, the printing condition stored in the file as the printing condition for the file.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for including sheet images of pre-printed inserts in a print preview for a print job. The system is operable to receive a print job, to receive a request for a print preview of the print job, and to rasterize logical pages of the print job to generate sheet images. The system is further operable to identify inserts to be integrated with printed versions of the sheet images of the logical pages, and to include sheet images of the inserts with the sheet images of the logical pages for the print preview.

Abstract: Image data is divided into blocks each of a 2×2 pixel size, and color-reduction processing is performed for the target block based on color data and attribute data of respective pixels forming the target block. A pattern flag indicating the layout pattern of color data contained in the target block is specified by comparing the color data of the respective pixels in the target block having undergone the color-reduction processing. Color data corresponding to a pixel at a position defined in advance in the block having undergone the color-reduction processing is extracted as color data of the first color. When it is determined that the number of colors in the block is one of two to four, color data of the second to fourth colors are extracted. The pattern flag, the color data of the first color of the block, and those of the second to fourth colors of the block are output.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus accepts input of transfer sheet identification information, forms an image on a transfer sheet based on a control value corresponding to the accepted transfer sheet identification information, and accepts input of a correction value of the control value and stores the correction value in correspondence with the transfer sheet identification information in a storage unit. The image is formed on the transfer sheet based on the control value that is corrected by the correction value when the control value is stored in correspondence with the accepted transfer sheet identification information.

Abstract: A display operation device includes: a display-integrated operation panel; a first UI component display device displaying a read start key; a read activating device responsive to a user operation of the read start key, for starting a document reading process; a second UI component display device, responsive to activation of the document reading process, for displaying a read stop key in place of the read start key; and a reading process stopping device, responsive to a user operation of the read stop key, for stopping execution of the reading process. When reading ends, an additional read key is displayed in place of the read stop key. The background color of read stop key is selected to be much different from the background color of read start key, and the background color of additional read key is selected to be analogous to the background color of read start key.

Abstract: An image reader includes: a read frame; a read guide; and a seal mechanism. The seal mechanism covers a gap between the read frame and the read guide. The seal mechanism includes a rib standing in parallel with a sliding direction of the read guide and a flexible dustproof sheet having an end that is in contact with the rib.

Abstract: In a method and a device to sort pixel data in a print data stream, a data sorting memory is used configured so that it can be written per column and read per row. The pixel data are entered per column into the data sorting memory in the order of the incoming print data stream. Via the per-row readout the pixel data are re-sorted into an order suitable to control the print head. The sorting can thereby take place in only one write process and one read process.

Abstract: An image processing method includes: generating a stochastic screening dither matrix (S101); performing a centered positive-negative conversion operation on the stochastic screening dither matrix (S102); generating a screen dot dither contrast matrix for each color surface according to the stochastic screening dither matrix after being subjected to the positive-negative conversion operation and a stochastic screening dither threshold set for each color surface of an image; performing a logical “and” operation between each data item in a one-bit amplitude modulation screen dot matrix of each color surface of the image and a data item at a corresponding position in the screen dot dither contrast matrix of the color surface, and using a result as a processed value of a corresponding data item in the one-bit amplitude modulation screen dot matrix of the color surface. An apparatus corresponding to the image processing method is also provided.
