  • Patent number: 11759752
Abstract: A fluorometric monitoring technique can be used to rapidly evaluate the efficiency of an osmosis membrane. In some examples, the technique includes injecting a bolus of fluorescent tracer into a feed stream. The tracer may be introduced for a period of time less than what is required for the tracer to reach an equilibrium concentration in the permeate stream. The feed stream and the permeate stream may be fluorometrically analyzed to determine a flow rate-independent cumulative-time concentration of the fluorescent tracer in the both streams. The efficiency of the osmosis membrane can then be determined based on these flow rate-independent cumulative-time concentrations.

  • Patent number: 11752456
Abstract: In the management of a facility pumping water from a natural environment containing impurities, the facility makes use of at least one rotary filter purifying the pumped water while some impurities at least partially clog the rotary filter. In particular, provision is made for estimating an evolution over time of a pressure loss caused by impurities clogging the rotary filter, based at least on data relating to the natural environment, dimensions of the rotary filter, and local measurements relating to at least one water level Namont upstream of the filter and to a flow rate of water Qaspiré drawn in downstream of the filter. Such an estimate of the evolution over time of the pressure loss makes it possible to anticipate possible risks of insufficient water supply to the pumping system (POM) downstream of the filter (FIL), or even to design filters (FIL) adapted to the needs of specific pumping facilities.

  • Patent number: 11739006
Abstract: A water quality measurement device 1 includes a twin tube excimer lamp 2. The inflow pipe 3 is connected to one end of the inner tube 21 of the excimer lamp 2, and the outflow pipe 4 is connected to the other end of the inner tube 21 of the excimer lamp 2. The detector 5 that measures the conductivity of sample water is interposed in the outflow pipe 4. In the water quality measurement device 1, sample water sequentially flows through the inflow pipe 3, the inner tube 21 of the excimer lamp 2, and the outflow pipe 4. Hence, the channel in the water quality measurement device 1 can be simplified. Additionally, the sample water is oxidized by being irradiated with UV light in the inner tube 21 of the excimer lamp 2. • Patent number: 11738133
Abstract: Features for protecting against leaks in a fluid circuit are disclosed. In an embodiment, a first indicator of a leak is used to trigger confirmation by blood flow reversal and air detection in the blood circuit. A method for performing a blood treatment includes, at blood treatment machine, pumping blood to a patient through a first blood line. Further, at a controller of the blood treatment machine, a first signal is received, indicating a probability of a leak in the first blood line. Responsively to the first signal, the controller commands a leak verification operation and receives a second signal indicating whether a leak in the first blood line is verified. Further, a leak indicating signal is generated if the second signal indicates a leak is verified.

  • Patent number: 11685670
Abstract: An apparatus and method for optimizing hydro-cyclone separation in a filtering system is disclosed. The apparatus includes a first, second and third storage tanks, a pump, a motor, a variable speed drive, and a hydro-cyclone. The pump pulls fluid from the third storage tank and routes it to the hydro-cyclone where particles are separated out. The filtered fluid is then routed onto a mechanism, such as a car wash, where the clean fluid is utilized. Since the car wash cannot always use all of the filtered fluid, a controller monitor flow rate and fluid pressure, and operates a proportional fluid control valve to bypass some or all of the fluid routed to the car wash and redirect it back to the second storage tank. This process allows the hydro-cyclone to operate at maximum efficiency while flow to the carwash may vary. The dirty particles separated out by the hydro-cyclone are routed to the first storage tank.
