Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for a regenerative braking and powertrain pedal system. The powertrain system includes an electric motor that is configured to generate regenerative energy and provide a regenerative braking torque. The powertrain system includes an electronic control unit coupled to the electric motor. The electronic control unit is configured to cause an accelerator pedal to rotate about its pivot point to increase a total available stroke in response to an energy recovery mode being activated. The electronic control unit is configured to control an amount of the regenerative braking torque to be applied using an accelerator pedal position. The electronic control unit is configured to cause the accelerator pedal to rotate about its pivot point to decrease the total available stroke in response to the energy recovery mode being deactivated.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to anonymizing sensor data through the use of map data. Methods include: receiving sensor data defining a trajectory; map-matching the sensor data using a map-matching algorithm to a plurality of road segments of a map database to generate a sequence of map-matched sensor data elements; determining a first value representing anonymization associated with a start of the trajectory; determining a second value representing anonymization associated with an end of the trajectory; determining first map-matched sensor data elements at the start of the trajectory to be redacted based on the first value; determining second map-matched sensor data elements at the end of the trajectory to be redacted based on the second value; and transmitting sensor data associated with elements in the sequence of map-matched sensor data elements between the first map-matched sensor data elements and the second map-matched sensor data elements.

Abstract: A method for controlling an automated vehicle. In a first method part, the instantaneous surroundings of the automated vehicle are detected using an on-board surroundings sensor system. A localization of the automated vehicle takes place based on a comparison of the data of the surroundings sensor system to a previously provided HD localization map. A map-based surroundings model is generated, in a second method part representing a normal mode, and is used for planning the behavior and the trajectory of the automated vehicle. In a third method part representing a safety mode, carried out in parallel to or as an alternative to the first method part, the instantaneous surroundings of the automated vehicle are detected using the on-board surroundings sensor system. Based on the data ascertained in the process, a map-less surroundings model is generated and used for planning the behavior and the trajectory of the automated vehicle.

Abstract: There is provided a mobile autonomous agricultural system comprising: a powered mobile unit for carrying agricultural equipment, and configured to move along rows of crops; at least one laser curtain sensor configured to project a laser curtain away from the mobile unit; a location module configured to monitor a location of the mobile unit relative to a row; a controller configured to control the travel of the mobile unit; a safety module configured to: receive a location signal from the location module related to the location of the mobile unit relative to a row, select a mode of operation to process the laser curtain in a predefined laser curtain pattern, based on the received location signal, each mode of operation corresponding to a different predefined laser curtain pattern, and to generate a safety output in response to determining that the laser curtain is interrupted within the laser curtain pattern.
