  • Patent number: 4477078
Abstract: A game apparatus consisting of a housing with a game playing surface. A ball is rolled on the playing surface by a conventional shooting device. The playing surface has openings and the ball, propelled from the front towards the rear end, falls into one of the openings, enters into the interior of the housing and rolls back towards the front end. One opening towards the rear end is designated as a "functional" opening and the interior of the housing has electrical wiring and a switching device for starting and stopping a motor which rotates a multi-disc assembly whenever the ball falls into the "functional" opening.

  • Patent number: 4475601
Abstract: A plow system that includes a plurality of equally spaced plows, each of which is mounted on the inclined beam of the system by a mechanically adjustable mounting structure. The system also has a tail wheel that is associated with the last plow and steering linkage for the tail wheel. The mounting structure includes a generally vertical bore for rotational attachment to the beam and a laterally extending ear located adjacent the beam. A combination of a fastener and tapered shims between the ear and beam provide and maintain the desired furrow widths. The rotation of the plow system to correspond to the desired furrow width in conjunction with the steering linkage automatically positions the tail wheel for this furrow width.

  • Patent number: 4470597
Abstract: The exerciser has a platform which is moved up and down rhythmically by the user to impart energy to a rotating fly wheel. Energy is imparted to the fly wheel by flexing of the knees during the up and down motion or by a rhythmic lifting of weights by the user or by grasping onto the hand rails of the exerciser. The exerciser can be constructed to adjust the extent of the vertical motion of the platform via an internal linkage. Further, the energy delivered by the user to the exerciser can be dissipated through various devices such as an alternator connected to an adjustable resistor.

  • Patent number: 4469184
Abstract: A cultivating tool having a U-shaped tubular frame defining a handle which may be gripped by an operator, and two hollow legs which latter house respective anchor legs biassed outwardly by means of a respective coil spring (not shown). A housing mounted between the legs contains a power source such as an electric motor and gearbox (both not shown) controlled by a switch on the handle and driving, via a reduction drive unit, a pair of cultivator rotors. In use, the legs are pushed into the ground against the pressure of the coil springs, a control being provided to ensure that the rotors cannot rotate until pressure has been applied to the anchor legs.

  • Patent number: 4467875
Abstract: A hydraulically actuated, triple-hinged tool bar comprised of four independently positioned sections is disclosed. A first outer section is flexibly coupled to one end of a center section of the tool bar while to the other end thereof is flexibly coupled an intermediate section, the length of which is less than that of the first outer section. A second outer section is flexibly coupled to the outer end of the intermediate section providing a lower profile when all sections of the tool bar are in the retracted, or non-working, position. Positioning control between the center section and the first outer and intermediate sections is provided by respective hydraulically-actuated cylinders while a third hydraulic cylinder coupling the intermediate and second outer section dampens the vertical movement of the latter for increased stability in the working and non-working positions.

  • Patent number: 4465142
Abstract: A tractor is provided with a wheel slippage control to regulate the load produced by an implement. Wheel slippage is measured by pulses received from tachometers measuring the rotation of a non-driven wheel and a driven wheel. These pulses are applied to associated counters, where the total number of pulses received from each wheel is continuously counted. If the difference between the counts of the counters reaches a preset amount, a signal is applied to the control valve of a lifting device attached to the tractor, so that an implement carried by the device penetrates less deeply into the soil. After the lifting device has been energized, the counters are reset to zero to continue counting until reset again.

  • Patent number: 4463811
Abstract: A guidance system for use with tractor-mounted row crop cultivators and similar implements includes a pair of independent furrow followers mounted one behind the other on the implement for sensing implement position relative to a preestablished guidance furrow. Series-connected switches are controlled by furrow sensor arms to activate a solenoid valve-controlled hydraulic cylinder on a laterally movable parallel linkage hitch which replaces the standard three-point hitch on the implement. When the implement is raised from the ground, V-shaped stops under the sensor arms automatically position the sensors at the null point. Switches and an actuator on the hydraulic cylinder operate in response to movement of the tractor rockshaft to return the implement to center position in preparation for alignment with the next set of rows to be cultivated.

  • Patent number: 4463947
Abstract: A knee and leg orthopedic exercising device is shown for use by a person that is seated in a chair. The device itself is a wide leg rest that may accommodate both legs of the user, although it could be used for one leg at a time. This leg rest has a side profile of an inverted capital T having a vertical shank portion that is supported from a generally perpendicular crown portion. The edge of one end of the crown portion is provided with an elongated roller which is adapted to roll upon a floor surface. The top side of the side of the crown portion which is remote from the roller serves as a footrest, while the side of the shank portion of the leg rest which is remote from the roller serves to support the shank of at least one of the legs of the user. This leg rest is provided with holding straps for holding the shank portion of the leg rest against the underside of the shank portion of the user's leg as the user flexes the leg between a vertical and an inclined, outstretched position.
