  • Patent number: 11678382
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for concurrent link setup and downlink data retrieval, e.g., for high efficiency WLAN. An access point (AP) may send a trigger element that allocates a resource for pre-association transmissions with the AP. The trigger element may allocate the resource for random access and/or deterministic access. The AP may receive, from an unassociated STA, a first frame via one or more resource units (RUs) allocated in the trigger element. The AP may determine a pre-association identifier (PID) that identifies the unassociated STA. The AP may send the PID to the unassociated STA, for example, in the trigger element or in the multi-STA ACK. The AP may send a second frame associated with a multi-user (MU) transmission that includes the PID. The AP may send a trigger frame that includes the PID.

  • Patent number: 11678274
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for adjusting Radio Link Monitoring (RLM), Radio Link Failure (RLF) detection, RLF recovery, and/or connection establishment failure detection for wireless devices (16) in a cellular communications network (10) depending on mode of operation. In one embodiment, a node (14, 16) in the cellular communications network (10) determines whether a wireless device (16) (e.g., a Machine Type Communication (MTC) device) is to operate in a long range extension mode of operation or a normal mode of operation. The node (14, 16) then applies different values for at least one parameter depending on whether the wireless device (16) is to operate in the long range extension mode or the normal mode. The at least one parameter includes one or more RLM parameters, one or more RLF detection parameters, and/or one or more RLF recovery parameters.

  • Patent number: 11677520
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for allocation of control channel candidates for multiple component carriers (CCs) in carrier aggregation (CA) communications. A CA limit may correspond to a total number of configurable control channel candidates across multiple CCs. The control channel candidates may include blind decoding (BD) candidates or control channel element (CCE) candidates for channel estimation. A per-CC limit of control channel candidates may correspond to a number of configurable control channel candidates for each CC. An applied set of control channel candidates may be determined by allocating control channel candidates across the multiple CCs based on the CA limit and the per-CC limit. Such techniques may be used in cases where the CCs have a same numerology or mixed numerology, and may also be used for cross-carrier scheduling.

  • Patent number: 11641618
Abstract: A cell access method includes determining a cell type of a first cell as a cell served by a high-speed-railway dedicated network or a cell of an ordinary Long-Term Evolution network. When determining the cell type as the cell served by the dedicated network, a first system message is configured and includes a first information unit indicating a number of equivalent cells, and sent to a terminal for determining, according to the first system message, that the cell type of the first cell is the cell served by the dedicated network. Upon determining a terminal movement state meeting preset access conditions of the cell served by the dedicated network, an access to the first cell is initiated. As such, the accuracy of terminal movement state can be predicted in accordance with the number of equivalent cells to the first cell, and the accuracy of cell access can be further improved.
