Abstract: A hang-up container made from thermoplastic synthetic material has a bag or sack body attached to a separable fastener comprising extruded pressure- slide- or push-fastener strips one of which has an upwardly extending reinforced carrying portion which may be provided with a reinforcing bead therealong at juncture with its closure portion and which has attached thereto an upwardly extending hook/handle. Bag type containers as thus described are especially adapted to be produced in an automatic production machine wherein body film material and the fastener strips are brought together and integrally welded, the prefabricated hook/handles are welded onto the carrying portions, the bags are successively separated along tear seals, and the separated bags carried away from the machine.

Abstract: For wine bottles and similar containers, an improved heat-shrunk film tape secondary closure of the type employing a tear strip to facilitate opening. The film is formed of certain acrylonitrile:methylacrylate or butadiene:styrene copolymers, which conform smoothly and tear cleanly, thereby enhancing the appearance of both the sealed and opened containers.

Abstract: A package containing a hazardous liquid is provided. The package comprises a container which is generally impermeable to a hazardous liquid contained therein, the container being subject to discharge of its contents when subjected to impact. The container is disposed within a first jacket of a liquid permeable material of sufficient strength to contain fragments of the container on rupture thereof. A second jacket is provided over first jacket, the second jacket having at least an inner wall and outer wall, the inner wall being liquid permeable, a hazardous liquid swellable body being contained between the inner wall and outer wall and being generally co-extensive with the inner wall and the outer wall, and a third jacket of a hazardous liquid vapor impervious membrane. The package provides substantial improvement in safety when transporting a container containing a hazardous liquid.

Abstract: A nursing bottle assembly includes a bottle having a closed end and an open end with a nipple being disposed over the open end. A flexible bag within the bottle has an open end secured to the open end of the bottle. The flexible bag which has its lower end disposed within the bottle is adapted to receive the liquid to be dispensed. Biasing means are provided to create a biasing force on the flexible bag to maintain a positive pressure on the liquid in the flexible bag as the liquid is dispensed through the nipple.

Abstract: A sealing cover for shipping containers for hazardous materials, such as nuclear fuels, which cover has a twist locking member which may be operated when the cover is under sufficient external force to provide an adequate seal. The cover includes resilient members which, once the cover is locked in place, continue to exert the necessary force on the seals to keep the container tightly sealed. The cover has a safety feature of being tightly locked so that the cover cannot be easily or accidently removed.

Abstract: A refuse container assembly for use in a trash compactor, the container having a tapered sleeve and a dish-shaped bottom portion removably attached to the lower end of the sleeve by clamp means which wedges between the dish-shaped bottom portion and the sleeve. The refuse container is easily disassembled for removal of compacted refuse therefrom.

Abstract: A television top protector secured to and substantially covering a horizontal top of a television cabinet. The protector is constructed so that food, drink, cigarettes, and sundries placed on the protector will slide off of the front or sides of the protector, thereby protecting the top surface of the cabinet and preventing damage to electrical circuitry located at the rear of the cabinet.

Abstract: A billfold or wallet for carrying a plurality of credit cards or the like in readily accessible position including a removable folded flexible flap member protecting the cards. The wallet includes a plastic liner forming a plurality of separate pockets for receiving credit cards therein and a removable flexible flap covering the pockets in order to protect the credit cards located therein from abrasive wear and to prevent the credit cards from inadvertently slipping out of the wallet. The flexible flap is made from a thin, transparent plastic material so that the cards may be easily selected, and the flap is removably secured in such a manner as to facilitate its removal or insertion of a replacement flexible flap.

Abstract: An elastically deformable plastic cap for containers such as bottles having necks, such containers containing materials under pressure, such as aerated liquids. The cap consists of two cylinders disposed concentrically one within the other. The outer cylinder has a sealing ring with a sealing edge at its lower end and the inner cylinder is closed at its bottom end with a diaphragm. The cylinders are connected at their upper ends by means of a ring. The bottom surface of the diaphragm and the bottom surface of the sealing ring are disposed in a first common plane; the sealing edges on the inner surface of the sealing ring and the outer surface of the inner cylinder respectively and the upper surface of the diaphragm lying in a second common plane, the second plane being parallel and above the first common plane.

Abstract: A container closure comprises a plastic ring having a top wall and a depending skirt with an annular opening in the top wall. A metal disc is disposed within and against the ring to close the opening. The metal disc is made from a stamped metal which is readily subject to corrosion. The raw edge of the disc is exposed and its internal layer is coated with a corrosion preventing material.
