Abstract: A flavor-generating device includes a chamber having an air inlet port and a flavor inhalation port, and defining a gas passageway between the air inlet port and the inhalation port. A liquid container for storing a liquid flavor source is provided, and is maintained at substantially an atmospheric pressure. At least one liquid passageway is provided in fluid communication with the liquid flavor source at its first end portion and with the gas passageway at its second end portion. The liquid passageway transports the liquid flavor source therethrough by capillary force. A heater heats and evaporates the liquid flavor source at the second end portion of the liquid passageway.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for decontaminating a liquid suspension comprising a decontaminating cell. The decontaminating cell has an upper light contaminate collection hood and/or a lower heavy contaminate collection trough. A method and apparatus are provided for decontaminating a liquid suspension by infusing the suspension with a gas, mechanically agitating the suspension, or providing chemical additives thereto. The liquid suspension is then directed to the decontaminating cell under a pressure head sufficient to purge the contaminates therefrom.
Abstract: Vaporization of volatile materials while avoiding combustion and denaturation of such material provide an alternative to combustion as means of volatilizing bioactive and flavor compounds to make such compounds available for inhalation without generating toxic or carcinogenic substances that are by-products of combustion and pyrolysis.
Abstract: Provided is a cast-coated paper which comprises a raw paper having on at least one side thereof a layer of a coating composition comprising a pigment and a water based binder, with the layer having a surface treated with a coagulating solution containing one or more of an ammonium salt as a coagulant and smoothened by pressing the treated surface to a hot specular surface of metal while the layer is in a wet condition; and a method of producing the aforesaid cast-coated paper.
