With reference to a recording material conveyance path having a center in a width direction of the recording material that is orthogonal to a recording material conveyance direction and in a case where an area on one side of the conveyance path center is a first area and the area on the other side of the conveyance path center is a second area, the attachment part is arranged in the first area and the first temperature detection unit is arranged in the second area.

Abstract: In an image forming apparatus, a consumable is mounted in the main casing. The consumable includes a consumable memory. A controller performs a consumable determination process to determine based on type information stored in a consumable memory whether the consumable mounted in the main casing is a special consumable. The controller performs a transmission process in a case where the consumable determination process determines that the consumable mounted in the main casing is the special consumable. The transmission process transmits via the communication interface a request to an external device which communicates with the image forming apparatus. Abstract: A remaining toner amount detection device includes four electrodes and a controller. Each electrode has an arc shape along an outer circumferential surface of a toner bottle, and the four electrodes are spaced a certain distance apart in a circumferential direction so as to surround the toner bottle. The controller detects a remaining toner amount inside the toner bottle by using the four electrodes. The controller determines whether at least one of a first electrostatic capacity value between one pair of adjacent electrodes and a second electrostatic capacity value between the other pair of adjacent electrodes falls within a threshold range. In response to determination that at least one of the electrostatic capacity values falls within the threshold range, the controller detects a remaining toner amount inside the toner bottle based on an electrostatic capacity value, and outputs the detected remaining toner amount.
