Abstract: The method of the managed sewer is a “Netcentric” distributed process that is managed in real-time and implemented through several apparatuses that enable the low capital cost and low installation cost of a smaller diameter pipe (smaller than typically used in gravity flow systems). The apparatuses enable the method of managing the grinding, pumping and staging processes to optimize the effectiveness of the collection process through the small pipe and increase system efficacy by using the pumping and transport action of the material in the pipe as part of the process activity.

Abstract: A filter cartridge for a filter for filtration of a fluid has a prismatic basic shape with a base face and a top face arranged parallel to each other and each having a polygonal basic shape. The prismatic basic shape is provided with a first lateral face and a second lateral face neighboring the first lateral face, wherein the first lateral face is an inflow surface and is substantially positioned perpendicular to the neighboring second lateral face. The prismatic basic shape has a third lateral face that is an outflow surface and is positioned at an angle relative to the first lateral face, wherein the angle is greater than 10° and smaller than 80°. A filter with such a filter cartridge is disclosed.
Abstract: An air cleaner assembly is disclosed. In one aspect, the air cleaner assembly includes a housing defining an inlet and an outlet, and including an access opening between the inlet and outlet. The air cleaner also includes a filter cartridge received within the housing and covering the access opening. The air cleaner also includes a lock mechanism. The lock mechanism is movable between an unlocked position in which the filter cartridge can be installed and removed from the housing and a locked position in which the filter cartridge is secured within the housing. The filter cartridge and lock mechanism include interacting features allowing the lock mechanism to be moved from the unlocked position to the locked position only when the filter cartridge is installed within the housing.

Abstract: A flange for a filter insert for separating oil aerosol from air has a flange region with radial contact surface for supporting the flange; an axial first wall region adjoining radially inwardly the flange region; a radial cover region adjoining an end of the first wall region opposite the flange region; a second axial wall region adjoining radially inwardly the cover region and surrounding a central cutout. Abstract: A multi-path cleaning system is provided for a fuel tank. The multi-path cleaning system includes a controller, a fuel polisher, and a plurality of controllable valves. The plurality of controllable valves are operatively connected to the controller, and each valve fluidly coupled to at least one of the inlet and outlet of the fuel polisher on a first side and the interior of the fuel tank on a second other side. The pump, when operated, causes fuel to be drawn through the inlet and discharged at the outlet of the fuel polisher, and to pass through at least one filter/water separator. Selective operation of the plurality of valves by the controller selectively fluidly couples portions of the interior of the fuel tank to the inlet and the outlet of the fuel polisher, thereby creating a plurality of fluid flow paths through the interior of the fuel tank.
Abstract: A system for compacting debris collected within a robotic vacuum debris container to allow more space for incoming debris. The volume of collected debris is reduced by pressure plates pressing the debris against surfaces so that the debris container may hold a greater mass of debris. The system allows robotic vacuums to operate for longer periods of time before requiring maintenance by a user to empty the debris container.
Abstract: A water filter communication system and method of using the system. A method of periodically reading water filter data associated with a water filter and retained by the water filter that has been positioned in an appliance includes the steps of: installing a water filter into an engaged position in a filter head assembly within an interior of a cabinet of an appliance that includes a water inlet and a water outlet and periodically, based upon and after a user's interaction with the appliance or the water filter, supplying power from the appliance to the filter read-write memory device engaged to the filter housing; transmitting water filter data to the appliance from the filter read-write memory device, which retains filter information.

Abstract: A diaphragm valve includes a valve body including a valve cavity and first and second ports, and a valve assembly disposed to seal the valve cavity. The valve assembly includes a valve seat, a seat carrier and a diaphragm, with the valve seat being retained with said seat carrier and disposed to surround the first port and including a flow passage in fluid communication with the first port. The seat carrier includes an annular body having an outer rim and a web that extends radially inward from the outer rim to a central opening, the central opening being aligned with the first port. The web includes a plurality of flow passages separated by lands about said central opening. Each land has a surface area that is less than a cross-sectional area of said second port so as to reduce obstruction of flow when the land overlays the second port.
Abstract: Air cleaner assemblies, components, and features are described. The features can be used to provide that the air cleaner assembly includes a housing and cover within which a filter cartridge having a media pack and a seal arrangement surrounding the media pack can be installed. The air cleaner assembly may also include a projection-receiver arrangement in which the filter cartridge has at least one first member and the housing has at least one second member that interacts with the first member. In one example, a portion of the seal arrangement is coplanar with the first member and a portion that is below the first member such that the first member is located between the seal arrangement and an inlet end of the filter cartridge.
