  • Patent number: 10287193
Abstract: A system has been developed to treat ballast water by selectively dissociating target molecules into component products compositionally distinct from the target molecule, wherein the bonds of the target molecule do not reform because the components are no longer reactive with each other. Dissociation is affected by treating the target molecule with light at a frequency and intensity, alone or in combination with a catalyst in an amount effective to selectively break bonds within the target molecule. Dissociation does not result in re-association into the target molecule by the reverse process, and does not produce component products which have a change in oxidation number or state incorporated oxygen or other additives because the process does not proceed via a typical reduction-oxidation mechanism.

  • Patent number: 10279291
Abstract: Fiber webs that may be used as filter media are provided. In some embodiments, the filter media may include multiple layers. Each layer may be designed to have separate functions in the filter media. For example, a first layer may be provided for improving dust holding capacity, a second layer for improving efficiency, and a third layer for providing support and strength to the media. By designing the layers to have separate functions, each layer may be optimized to enhance its function without negatively impacting the performance of another layer of the media.

  • Patent number: 10272379
Abstract: A dust removal device includes: an upper cover, a base, a support body, and a dust collector. The support body couples with the upper cover and the base. The dust collector includes: a first connecting member, a second connecting member, and a dust collecting body. The dust collecting body is coupled with the first connecting member and the second connecting member and has a folded structure. When an external force enables a shape of the first dust collecting body to be changed, a distance between the first connecting member and the second connecting member is also changed. In a cleaning mode, the dust collecting body is stretched and compressed in a reciprocating manner by using a structure of the dust collecting body.

  • Patent number: 10264936
Abstract: The present invention relates to a vacuum cleaner filter bag made of a thermally weldable filter material which forms the sealed internal space of the vacuum cleaner filter bag. The internal space is thereby closed at least on one side by means of a weld seam configured according to the invention, in the case of which at least two layers of the filter material are welded together. The weld seam configured according to the present invention is distinguished by a far higher tearing strength, compared with weld seams as are known from the state of the art. The invention relates in addition to a method for the production of the vacuum cleaner filter bag, to a tool for the production of the high-strength weld seam and also to an ultrasonic welding unit in which this tool is integrated.

  • Patent number: 10266966
Abstract: A method of bonding a nanofiber web of nanofibers having diameters of between about 50 nanometers and about 2,000 nanometers onto a surface of a woven or nonwoven polymeric media having media fiber diameters of between about 700 nanometers and about 50,000 nanometers utilizes exposing the topmost layer of nanofibers and media fibers to a jet of heated air for a time and at a distance such that substantially only the topmost layer of fibers are bonded. The jet of heated air exits through a nozzle slot having a length of less than about 2 inches in the nanofiber web travel direction. The temperature of the heated air ranges from about 2 to about 10 times the nanofiber melting temperature, and heat air has a nozzle slot velocity of greater than about 500 feet/minute. An adhesive may bond the nanofibers, to a media, which may be bi-component fiber fibers.
