Abstract: A safety device for use in bench pressing includes at least one bar overlying a bench in a generally longitudinal direction. The bar, or preferably pair of bars, is located near the center line of the bench and is preferably pivotally moveable downward to an operable position in which it overlies the bench. Hooks for retaining a weight upon supporting uprights while the device is pivoted up from its operable position and locks for locking the device in the weight-retaining position may also be provided.
Abstract: An exercise device comprising a pair of weight plates (10) is disclosed which can be mounted for rotation about a lifting bar (22) with the plates' centers of gravity below the lifting bar. A leverage control bar, coupled to the plates for rotation therewith, is positioned to contact the users forearm during a portion of the curling movement, thereby limiting the rotation of the plates and maintaining the plates' centers of gravity in a lagging position with respect to the user's hands so as to exert relatively constant resistance during the movement.
Abstract: A universal physical exercising device includes in combination: a collapsable base supporting frame; a horizontal frame rotatably connected to the base supporting frame through a pair of pivot joints; an adjustable vertical frame structure with a handle member and a pair of vertical sides longitudinally pivoted to a center portion of the horizontal frame; and an elliptical pedal member with foot straps and safety belt fixed at a lower end of the vertical sides of the vertical frame structure. The base supporting frame and the horizontal frame are also provided with a plurality of detachable connecting members for holding the horizontal frame in stationary condition for allowing the vertical frame structure to be operated as a single unit while the vertical frame structure also includes a plurality of anchoring elements for being optionally connected to the horizontal frame so as to be consolidated together for performing either swinging or rotation exercises therewith.
