  • Patent number: 7315416
Abstract: A screen panel includes a rigid glass, a lenticular lens and a Fresnel lens laminated with each other, and the edges of the screen panel are sealed. An air evacuation path is formed between the lenses by wires inserted between the contact surfaces of the lenses, or by convexes or concaves previously formed on one of the contact surfaces. Because of the provision of the air evacuation path, the air between the lenses of the screen panel is sufficiently evacuated, and the lenses can closely attached to each other. Therefore, the flatness of the screen panel can be enhanced, and the degradation of the image quality can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 7301699
Abstract: A display device includes a liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, a light emitting diode (LED), and a reflector. The reflector having the first, the second, and the third reflecting surfaces is arranged in the rear of an LCD screen of the LCD panel. The first reflecting surface is arranged parallel to the LCD screen. The light source is arranged between the LCD screen and the LED such that a main axis of light emitted from the LED is parallel to the LCD screen. The second reflecting surface is arranged such that the light is reflected off the second reflecting surface toward the LCD screen. The third reflecting surface is arranged such that the light is reflected off the third reflecting surface toward the first reflecting surface and transmitted to the LCD screen. With this configuration, the amount of the light is less likely to be reduced when the light passes through a light guiding member and the brightness of the LCD screen is increased.

  • Patent number: 7283301
Abstract: A display apparatus includes an emissive screen having luminescent pixels that are addressed solely by a laser addressing system. Each pixel includes a luminescent region located next to a photocathode. When struck by the laser beam, free electrons are created that are accelerated by an applied high voltage field from the photocathode to the luminescent region, thereby causing the luminescent region to emit visible light with a brightness (energy) that is substantially higher than the energy of the addressing beam. Apertures are optionally provided in hexagonal luminescent regions to relax beam-scanning requirements. Optional millichannel plates (crude versions of 2nd generation night vision system Microchannel plates) are provided to enhance photon multiplication. A position sensitive device is implemented using the photocathode or photoanode (luminescent) material to facilitate the scanning and modulating process.

  • Patent number: 7244032
Abstract: A liquid crystal projector for full-color image projection has three LCD panels as light valve device, associated with respectively primary colors, for displaying an image in a color-separated manner. An ultra high pressure mercury lamp illuminates the LCD panels through three illuminating light paths associated with respectively the primary colors. A combining prism combines image light of the primary colors from the three LCD panels, to obtain full-color image light. A laser diode emanates auxiliary illuminating light of a red color among the primary colors according to laser emission, to compensate for shortage in light intensity in the red color. A ferroelectric shaking or vibrating device vibrates the laser diode, to keep visual noise inconspicuous in the auxiliary illuminating light.
