  • Patent number: 11185675
Abstract: A connector is disclosed that includes comprising a body having a tubing portion, a luer portion axially opposite the tubing portion and connected thereto, and an inner circumferential surface defining an internal bore of the connector. The inner circumferential surface extends axially between the tubing portion and the luer portion, and the internal bore being is in fluid communication with the tubing portion and the luer portion. The inner circumferential surface includes a plurality of splines extending axially along a length of the inner circumferential surface in the tubing portion of the connector. The inner circumferential surface is configured to engage an external surface of a tubing in a coupled configuration. In the coupled configuration edges of the splines grip and engage the external surface of the tubing to retain the tubing in the body.

  • Patent number: 11110036
Abstract: In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to provide fluid nutrition and hydration. In one illustrative example, a feeding set for use with a peristaltic enteral feeding pump has sections of flexible tubing or conduit, a dispensing control valve that is in fluid communication with the tubing, and a retention disk. In some configurations, the feeding set has as attachment mechanism, which may be formed by one clips or hooks extending from the dispensing control valve and coupling geometry of the retention disk. By some approaches, the clips or hooks and the coupling geometry are configured to attach the feeding set with the pump, such as by attaching the feeding set to an internal panel of the feeding pump. In operation, the feeding set and pump are used to move fluid nutrition and hydration from a container or bag to the patient in a controlled manner.

  • Patent number: 11058848
Abstract: A catheter includes an elongated body and an expandable member configured to expand radially outward away from the elongated body from a collapsed configuration to an expanded configuration. The catheter further includes a retainer configured to overlap an end of the expandable member to hold the expandable member in the collapsed configuration. The expandable member may be configured to engage with a vessel wall when the expandable member is in the expanded configuration. The vessel may curve and the expandable member may be configured to deflect a portion of the elongated body distal to the expandable member when the expandable member is engaged with the vessel wall to better conform the shape of the elongated body to the curved portion of the vessel.

  • Patent number: 11040153
Abstract: A syringe adapter includes a housing having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the housing defining a passageway, and a connector body having a first end and a second end positioned opposite the first end, with the connector body having a connection member configured to be secured to a mating connector. One of the housing and the connector body includes a tab and the other of the housing and the connector body defines a channel that receives the tab, with the connector body movable relative to the housing between a first position where the connector body is restricted from rotating relative to the housing in a first rotational direction and free to rotate relative to the housing in a second rotational direction, and a second position where the connector body is free to rotate in the first and second rotational directions.

  • Patent number: 10987470
Abstract: A single-hand controlled syringe with plunger extension includes a barrel, a plunger fit to the barrel, and a plunger extension integrated with the plunger. The plunger extension consists of a head, a back, and a body between the head and the back. The body of the plunger extension is oriented parallel to the plunger, with integrated connection at the back of the plunger extension and the back of the plunger. Depressing the head of the plunger extension moves the syringe from the contracted state to the retracted state. Such syringe with plunger extension is useful to draw blood or fluid with a single hand.

  • Patent number: 10967119
Abstract: A wearable medication injecting device which is worn on a patient's body and adapted to automatically administer medication to the patient via a scheduled injection, the device comprising a detachable medication module containing the medication and a needle, a medication injection assembly having a mounting plate with at least one attachment point for removably engaging the detachable medication module, and a band which secures the mounting plate against the patient's skin surface. The needle is adapted to pass through the mounting plate to penetrate the skin surface and deliver the medication. Replacing the detachable medication module both replenishes the medication and replaces the needle, and attaching additional detachable medication modules allows a second medication to be simultaneously administered. A user control device is adapted to wirelessly communicate with the medication injection assembly to control the scheduled injections and convey device status alerts to a user.
