  • Patent number: 5915657
Abstract: A monitor support mechanism (20) includes a monitor support (22) having two brackets (23, 23), and a housing (25) secured to the underside of a table (24) adjacent the rear edge (26). A swinging parallelogram-type linkage (29) operatively connects the monitor support with the housing. Springs (33) within the housing bias the linkage to urge the monitor to move upwardly. An adjustment mechanism (35) is arranged to permit adjustment of the compressive displacement of the springs so that the spring force will balance the weight of the monitor. The springs act on the linkage mechanism through low-friction rollers (40).

  • Patent number: 5904332
Abstract: A mounting assembly for mounting a vibrator to the outer surface of a pipe. The mounting assembly includes a mounting base having a top surface adapted to receive the vibrator and a bottom surface including a groove having two opposing inclined side walls that are adapted to be placed in engagement with the outer surface of the pipe. A tensioner having a selectively extendable and retractable end is attached to the top surface of the mounting base. An elongate flexible strap adapted to be wrapped around the pipe includes a first end attached to the moveable end of the tensioner and a second end that is adapted to be selectively attached to the moveable end of the tensioner after the strap is wrapped around the pipe. The moveable end of the tensioner is extended to tension the strap about the pipe and to thereby tightly mount the mounting base to the outer surface of the pipe such that the mounting base transmits vibrations from the vibrator to the pipe to dislodge any material forming a blockage in the pipe.

  • Patent number: 5903645
Abstract: A clamping device for mobile phones includes a fork-shaped link pivotally connected to a clamp seat at either end. Each clamp seat has a lateral side provided with slanting rack teeth. An elastic securing seat is disposed adjacent to the rack teeth and has stop elements for projecting into the rack teeth to force the clamp seats to displace only inwardly to be positioned in place. The securing seat further has slanting notches at its ends. A press rod provided with corresponding slanting notches is passed through the notches of the securing seat. By pressing the press rod, the securing seat is urged to displace rearwardly, bring the stop elements to disengage from the rack teeth. Due to the action of compression springs, the clamp seats are caused to instantly extend to clamp mobile phones of various sizes and types.

  • Patent number: 5897081
Abstract: A method of replacing an existing telephone pole having a terminal box mounted thereto is disclosed. The terminal box is dismounted from the existing telephone pole. The terminal box is then permanently suspended from at least one overhead cable. A new telephone pole is installed, typically at some distance from the existing telephone pole. The existing telephone pole is then removed. A rigid suspension bracket is usable in the method for suspending the terminal box from the overhead cable. The terminal box is suspended in approximately the same location as the terminal box was mounted to the existing telephone pole. This reduces the stress on a splice and eliminates the need to recondition the splice and replace the terminal box.

  • Patent number: 5897091
Abstract: A rail unit comprises a fixed rail, a movable rail slidably engaged with the fixed rail and a locking mechanism for locking the movable rail relative to the fixed rail. In order to increase a mechanical strength of a given part of lower flanges of the movable rail where locking openings for the locking mechanism are formed, the given part is integrally formed at an upper end thereof with a raised portion, or the lower flanges of the movable rail are formed at mutually mating portions with depressed portions. When the movable rail and the fixed rail are subjected to a mutually pulled apart movement upon a vehicle collision of the like, the raised portion or the depression portions are brought into abutment with an inner surface of the fixed rail to suppress or at least minimize deformation of the rail unit.

  • Patent number: 5897090
Abstract: The puck for a sample tube includes a housing, a spring device and an end cap. The spring device has an annular base portion and angularly spaced spring arms that extend upwardly from the base portion and then bend downwardly toward the base portion. The end cap includes a hub portion around which the spring device is mounted. The cap with the spring device are fixed at one end of the housing and a portion of the spring arms extend into the interior space of the housing. The downwardly directed portion of the spring arm includes a sample tube engaging portion that is substantially parallel with a central axis of the housing. Thus a sample tube inserted in the puck engages the sample tube engaging portions of the spring arms which exert a biasing force against the sample tube. The spring arms provide an optimum restraining force against the sample tube to permit easy insertion and removal of the sample tube from the puck.
