Abstract: A storage and dispensing apparatus for dry or liquid pet food of the type including a serving tray and a generally cylindrical storage container detachably secured to the tray so as to extend axially thereabove. The tray is provided with a generally circular opening for receiving the bottom of the storage container, and a flange projects radially into the opening. The flange is interrupted over a predetermined circumferential arc. The bottom of the storage container has a skirt portion that flairs downwardly and outwardly and has an outside diameter which is larger than the inside diameter of the interrupted flange. On the flaired skirt, a pair of diametrically opposed lugs project radially outwardly and each lug has a circumferential dimension which is smaller than the circumferential extent of the interruption in the tray flange. Immediately above the flaired skirt there is provided a downwardly facing annular seat.

Abstract: Apparatus is provided for generating a condensed beam of light having a limited degree of scatter, or deviation, comprising light collimating means for providing a source of collimating light and light condensing means operatively connected to the collimating means, such as a truncated cone with a reflective inner surface, the condensing means providing a light beam output having a light divergence limited to about 30.degree. or less. The low divergence beam generating apparatus might be incorporated into larger dental apparatus which can be operator manipulated to provide different modes of light output, which modes include the condensed beam with and without a bandpass of visible wavelengths.
Abstract: A dental tool for assisting in cavity repair in two adjacent teeth by facilitating removal of matrix bands therefrom after installation of filler restoration material. The tool includes a shank terminating in a bifurcated end portion, each branch of the bifurcated end portion terminating in a working surface having an inner edge. The inner edges of the working surfaces are separated by a gap having a width sufficiently large to accommodate a dental matrix band and sufficiently narrow to enable the working surfaces to maintain tight common interproximal contact with the filler restoration material in adjacent teeth.
Abstract: A dental face bow comprising a U-shaped spring member including two opposing uniformly acting spring biased legs and a central portion. The U-shaped spring member has a cross section with vertical and horizontal cross sectional axes. The vertical axis is at least twice the length of the horizontal axis. The bow includes two inwardly extending earpieces, proximate the ends of the legs, adapted to fit the external acoustic meatuses of a dental patient. A bite plate for holding a material in contact with oral structures of a dental patient and adjusting means for rigidly securing said bite plate in a fixed relationship with said earpieces are provided.
Abstract: A portable livestock handling panel comprising plurality of horizontally extending side members having vertically disposed end members secured to the opposite ends thereof. A pair of connector elements are secured to each of the members and are adapted to have a rod member extending therethrough so that the ends of the panel member may be joined to other panel members through the use of the rod to create any desired corral or holding pen configuration.
Abstract: An odor controlling pet excrement container having a substantially flat pan in which is removably mounted a conforming protective liner of flexible sheet material, the liner having a layer of absorptive material and being adapted to contain a layer of litter material if desired. After use, the liner and its contents are removed from the pan and the excrement and litter are sealed within the liner by means of a drawstring. Super absorbent material capable of gelling liquid urine and suitable odor suppressents are incorporated in the liner and its contents.
Abstract: A poultry feeder assembly for use with an automated conveyor-type feed system. The feeder assembly is inexpensive to manufacture and comprises only two assembly pieces which are formed of a resilient, flexible material allowing for easy assembly and adjustment without tool or implement. Multi-stage incremental positioning provided between a dome/feeder-tube combination and a pan member allows feeding of brood through pre-harvest sized foul and renders the feeder assembly adaptable for use with feeds having varying flow characteristics.

Abstract: The handpiece comprises a speed reducer (34) formed by an interchangeable modular unit. This reducer (34) is mounted in a housing (15) equipped with bearings (16, 17) supporting the input shaft (1), and the output shaft (10) respectively. The housing is closed on the input side by a side plate (18) formed from a piece which has a fixed wheel (7), is concentric with respect to the input shaft and is equipped with radial toothing (6) facing the inside of the housing (15). The output shaft (10) comprises, at its rear end, an output wheel (9) having a radial toothing (8) facing the interior of the housing. A ball thrust bearing is provided between an internal shoulder (15a) of the housing and an external shoulder (9a) of the output shaft.
Abstract: A dental instrument is described by which a tooth file is automatically driven by a driver for producing alternating movement forces in the axial direction of a tool support bearing the file to a predetermined axial limit position in each direction, the distance between these limit positions being such that the instrument tool support is able to take an axial position in which it is unaffected by those movement forces. The movement forces affect the tool support only when it is moved from the unaffected axial position by an external force exerted on it and then by only the one of the forces acting in the axial direction opposite to the external force. External forces in each direction are able to move the tool support up to a predetermined maximum amplitude of action.
Abstract: A diet delivery system for the controlled delivery of food to an animal particularly adapted to facilitate intake monitoring and maintain biocontainment capabilities while in microgravity is provided. The system includes a cage insert for an animal enclosure module having a diet servicing compartment adjacent an animal enclosing compartment. A diet housing unit is removably received in the diet receiving compartment and is held in place by a cover. The diet housing includes a housing aperture through which the animal feeds. A first barrier device is selectively movable to block the housing aperture or to allow feeding. A removable diet cassette is inserted in the diet housing and includes an aperture through which the animal feeds and a second barrier device selectively movable for blocking the cassette aperture or for allowing feeding. A diet container in which the food is stored is also provided together with a holding mechanism for releasably holding the diet container in the cassette.
Abstract: A toothpick holder for holding toothpicks in different positions to facilitate access to different portions of the dental arches. The holder includes a handle with an arm thereon having a toothpick receiving opening through which a toothpick can be positioned to point first in one direction and also in a direction 180 degrees opposite the first position for gaining access to the fronts and backs of all the interdental, or proximal spaces.

One side and the top and bottom pieces of the frame have grooves for slidably receiving the front pane along its corresponding edges. The other side piece has a longitudinal side-to-side opening through which the front pane is slidably inserted and removed, and a front-to-back recess which intersects the opening. A retainer pin is removably positioned in this recess to hold the front pane in place.
Abstract: The adjustable support for a prosthetic tooth includes an abutment member having an opening for reception of a bolt member that engages with a nut member. The abutment member is sandwiched between a head portion of the bolt member and an enlarged collar portion of the nut member. The engaging surfaces between the head portion and the abutment member and between the abutment member and the enlarged collar portion of the nut member are of complementary shape with respect to each other to permit pivotal adjustment of the abutment member with respect to the bolt and nut members. The abutment member is thus pivoted to a desired position and the bolt and nut members are tightened to lock the abutment member in the desired position. A prosthetic tooth having an opening of complementary shape with respect to the abutment member engages the abutment member to assume the angular orientation of the abutment member.
