  • Patent number: 10635765
Abstract: Clusters of metrics in a system are stored. A display region is divided into n divided regions in such a way that an area of a divided region i (1?i?n) is equal to or larger than an area of a divided region i+1. Each cluster is allocated to the divided region i sequentially selected from i=1, in the decreasing order of the number of metrics contained in each of the clusters, in such a way that the number of the clusters allocated to the divided region i+1 is equal to or more than the number of clusters allocated to the divided region i. The cluster allocated to the divided region i is drawn in the divided region i.

  • Patent number: 10552554
Abstract: Roughly described, a method is provided to approximate chemical potentials of elements in ternary and quaternary compound semiconductors, for example III-V semiconductors. In embodiments of the present invention, three, four, or more relationships are solved together to find approximated chemical potentials for each group III element and each group V element. The first relationship relates total energy of a defect-free system to the sum, over all of the group III and group V elements, of (a) provisional chemical potential for the respective element, times (b) number of atoms of the respective element within a supercell. The second relationship describes a stoichiometric balance relationship between total atomic density of all group III atoms and total atomic density of all group V atoms. The other relationship or relationships balance mole fraction ratio between group III atoms, or between group V atoms.

  • Patent number: 10423739
Abstract: Constraint-based methods for determining orientations of material physical properties using an isoparametric shape function are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of defining an orientation of an material physical property includes defining nonlinear and/or discontinuous design constraints of design values in a geometric domain associated with one or more physical attributes of the material physical property, and translating the nonlinear and/or discontinuous design constraints into continuous, first order design constraints of the design values by applying an isoparametric shape function. The method further includes performing a topology optimization using the continuous, first order design constraints of the design values, and reverse-translating results of the topology optimization back into the geometric domain using the isoparametric shape function. The results of the topology optimization in the geometric domain are indicative of the orientation of the material physical property.

  • Patent number: 10423740
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide techniques and systems for simulating a circuit design so that the simulation follows hardware semantics. Specifically, some embodiments ensure that the simulation follows hardware semantics by properly handling race conditions in state elements and/or glitches in clock trees that can occur during logic simulation. Each logic simulation cycle can include two stages: a stimuli application stage in which the system evaluates signal values of the circuit design which do not depend on a clock signal, and a clock propagation stage in which the system evaluates signal values that depend on a clock signal. Some embodiments of the present invention sample signal values during the stimuli application stage, and use the sampled signal values during the clock propagation stage to handle race conditions in state elements and/or glitches in clock trees that may occur during logic simulation.

  • Patent number: 10394998
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system, method, and program product for accelerating a simulated memory walking sequence during a simulation conducted by a computer. In one embodiment, a simulation test-case is executed and one or more memory locations in the simulated memory are identified as eligible to contain valid data. Subsequent to commencement of the simulated memory walking sequence, it is determined whether an identified memory location is within a specified number of memory locations after a memory location to be processed by simulated hardware during the simulated memory walking sequence. If an identified memory location is within the specified number, the simulated hardware is allowed to process the memory location. If an identified memory location is not within the specified number, the simulated hardware is advanced to a subsequent memory location and is allowed to process the subsequent memory location.

  • Patent number: 10394977
Abstract: A method of evaluating response of a physical structure to external stimulus includes defining a mesh of finite elements, each defined by edges, for a model of the physical structure. The method includes identifying a governing differential equation and associated complementary functions, which are each associated with a scalar multiplier. The method includes generating an energy optimization model that minimizes a difference between internal and external energies of the finite elements. The internal energy is based on strain energy in a volume defined by the edges of the finite element and resulting from deformations by the complementary functions. The external energy of each finite element is based on external work done by the external stimulus acting on the finite element as deformed by the complementary functions. The method includes solving the energy optimization model for the scalar multipliers and calculating a resulting parameter of interest of the physical structure.

  • Patent number: 10229229
Abstract: A driving model generation device is provided that enables driving evaluation according to a traveling situation of a vehicle. A vehicle is provided with a vehicle state detector, which detects a vehicle state quantity that changes according to a driving operation by a driver. A model generator generates a driving model, which is a reference related to a specific driving operation, based on the vehicle state quantity at the time the driver starts the specific driving operation and the vehicle state quantity at the time the specific driving operation is finished. A driving evaluator evaluates the driving skill of the driver by comparing the driving operation of the driver presented by a detection result of the vehicle state detector to the driving model generated by the model generator.
