  • Patent number: 10165431
Abstract: A system and method for generating and transmitting emergency messages and for maintaining real-time emergency communications sessions between users and emergency dispatch centers. A system receives data transmitted from a user device and constructs an emergency message related to a specific type of emergency scenario as well as the location, meta-data and background information of the user. The generated emergency message is transmitted via a communications network and delivered to an appropriate emergency dispatch center. The method enables the user to deliver a detailed request for help regardless of his or her location or, in another instance, delivers the basic emergency response related information for the user. The generated emergency message is universally compatible with emergency communications center infrastructure so long as the communications centers possess basic voice call equipment.

  • Patent number: 10110464
Abstract: The method relates to the monitoring of at least one routing parameter for a cluster including nodes and switches, static communication links connecting nodes and switches. Each switch includes several output ports. After having selected at least one switch, a number of routes per port is calculated for each port of each switch selected, routes being defined during a routing step for each connecting one node to another. A mean number of routes per port is then calculated for the at least one selected switch. Each number of routes per port calculated is then compared with the mean number of routes per port calculated and, in response to this comparison, a potential imbalance of routing of the cluster is notified.

  • Patent number: 10004066
Abstract: To handle different Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, there may be a need for supporting multiple parallel data paths to exchange data between two or more peer entities of a data communication system. Each data path between the peer entities may be characterized by various QoS parameters such as priority, delay, jitter, data rate, etc. A communication system may allocate transmission resources for each data path based on the QoS parameters associated with them. Since the allocated transmission resources may not be always sufficient to send all the pending data from an application, the data packets may be segmented or packed depending on the available transmission resources. In such a case, doing segmentation may lead to inefficient usage of the transmission resources. A method and apparatus are disclosed that avoid such segmentation and allocates the transmission resources to the other active data paths which can better utilize the transmission resources.

  • Patent number: 9723498
Abstract: A method for seamlessly and automatically updating an access point or router. The method includes receiving an update for the access point and determining a status of a network traffic associated with the access point. The method further includes determining an update time for applying the update based on the determined status of the network traffic and applying the update to the access point at the determined update time. An access point receives an update for the access point, and waits for a time to apply the update. The access point waits until there is no interactive traffic in which a user is actively using the network. The access point applies the update and reboots. By waiting until there is no interactive traffic, the update process mitigates interruptions to the user's active use of the network.

  • Patent number: 7646768
Abstract: Techniques are provided for re-mapping and interleaving transport packets of multiple transport streams for processing by a single transport demultiplexor. At least one PID re-map table is employed having re-map values indexed by n possible PID values of transport packets associated with at one transport stream of the multiple transport streams. The n possible PID values is less than or equal to the number of PID values which can be handled by the single transport demultiplexor, and is less than all possible PID values of transport packets within the multiple transport streams. The PID values within at least one transport stream are compared with the n possible PID values of the PID re-map table, and when a match is found, the table is indexed using the matching entry and a re-map value is generated therefrom. The re-map value replaces the original PID value within the transport packet.
