  • Patent number: 11423868
Abstract: A keyboard device and a musical sound emission method are provided. A top lid is formed into a hollow structure including a lower plate and an upper plate facing the lower plate. Since vibrating bodies are fixed to an inner surface of the lower plate, the vibrating bodies can cause the lower plate to vibrate and thereby emit musical sound generated through the vibration from an outer surface side of the lower plate to the outside. On the other hand, the musical sound emitted from an inner surface side of the lower plate is blocked by the upper plate, and it is thus possible to curb mutual cancelation of musical sound in opposite phases emitted from each of the inner surface and the outer surface of the lower plate. Therefore, it is possible to efficiently emit musical sound to the surroundings of the top lid.

  • Patent number: 11373628
Abstract: The instant invention relates to new attachments for the round tubular body of flutes. It attaches firmly, but removably, to the flute and stabilizes the relation between the flute and the player's left index finger (and/or thumb) without pressure on the player's mouth, which enhances the flexibility of the player's lips to more perfectly play the flute. This is especially beneficial for the player's lower lip, which, under extant art, is forcibly pinned against the lower teeth and gums to stabilize the flute. This invention comprises a finger connector and a spacer attachment to the flute, constituting a comfortable surface for the base of the left index finger and an opening through which the flute player's left index finger (and/or thumb) is inserted, as like wearing a ring.

  • Patent number: 11367421
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided performing autonomous tuning of a stringed instrument. Images of the stringed instrument are acquired by at least two cameras and processed to identify the location of a peg. A robotic peg actuator is then engaged to actuate rotation of a peg in order to rotate the peg to a tuned angular orientation, guided by feedback generated by processing acoustic signals recorded by an acoustic transducer while a string associated with the peg is agitated. In some example implementations, the cameras and peg actuator are rigidly mounted to a frame that is configured to support the stringed instrument during peg imaging and actuation. A robotic string actuator may be provided to facilitate vibration of the string during the tuning process. Multiple robotic peg actuators may be included for per-peg rotational actuation and/or a given peg actuator may be robotically translatable to actuate more than one peg.
