  • Patent number: 4675395
Abstract: Hinokitiol, which is relatively insoluble in water, can be rendered more soluble by converting it to an inclusion compound in a cyclodextrin. This may be prepared by heating a mixture of hinokitiol and an aqueous solution of cyclodextrin to a temperature above the melting point of hinokitiol and then mixing the heated mixture with a very cold organic liquid to precipitate the inclusion compound.
