A stand off 14 includes a resistive or insulating cylinder 15, through which gas feeds are drilled and a close coupled helically wound combination, generally indicated at 16. This combination 16 comprises an RF conductive tube 17 in the form of a braided cable; a thermocouple 18 having twisted pair supply cables 19 and a heater element 20 in the form of a cable loop or pair.

    Abstract: An electrically conductive heated glass panel assembly, control system, and method for producing panels are provided to warm objects and to insure unobstructed viewing through glass by removing moisture. An integrated connection circuit interconnects glass sheets, which have a low emissivity conductive coating deposited thereon. The circuit includes copper bus bars that are disposed onto the conductive coating through the use of a circularly rotating or an inline heating head and mask apparatus. A metallic tab, which extends from the glass sheet's peripheral edge, is disposed onto each conductive metal bus bar for external electrical connectivity. Two types of glazing channels are offered to interconnect multiple panels to external circuits and controls. A solid-state controller may be provided to obtain sensor control signals so as to drive a triac circuit that provides current flow through the panel for the desired heating.

    Abstract: An adjustable adapter includes two arms, each having an axis, a surface substantially normal to the axis, wherein the surfaces of the arms face each other, an end and a passageway for fluid communication between the end and the opening, wherein one of the arm ends is for connection to an inlet of an applicator and the other arm end is for connection to an outlet of a container, and a fastener for pivotally coupling the arms. One of the arm surfaces is provided with a groove in fluid communication with both arm openings. The groove is sealed to prevent fluid from leaking from between the surfaces. When the fastener is in a rotation-resisting mode, the fastener forces the surfaces of the arm toward one another sufficiently to increase friction and resist rotation therebetween, and when the fastener is in a rotation-permitting mode, the fastener releases the surfaces sufficiently to decrease friction and permit rotation therebetween.

    Abstract: An automatic water sprinkler assembly is provided. A main conduit is connected to a source of water pressure, at least a portion of the main conduit is buried underground with a releasably connected vertical portion extending above ground. A main horizontal feeder conduit having at least four vertical output conduits is connected to a source of electrical power for operating electrically controllable valves associated with each of said at least four vertical output conduits for selectively controlling fluid flow therethrough. Each of the four vertical output conduits has an end portion terminating above ground and releasably connected to a primarily horizontally extending discharge conduit. The vertical portion of the main conduit, the horizontal feeder, and the vertical output conduits are all releasably connected above ground so that the entire distribution assembly is portable. Alternatively, the valves may be manually operated.

    Abstract: A thermo-controlled self-explosive fire extinguisher, which comprises a flat, rounded container having an outer thread around the periphery, a container holder having a bottom opening and an inner thread inside the bottom opening, and a fire extinguishing agent filled in the container. After installation of the container holder in a round hole on a board at the ceiling, the outer thread of the container is threaded into the inner thread inside the container holder and disposed substantially in flush with the ceiling. The fire extinguishing agent expands when hot, and the container body explodes when its inside pressure surpasses a predetermined level, causing the fire extinguishing agent to be spread out widely.

    Abstract: Snow-making apparatus comprises the combination of a bulk water nozzle for projecting a spray of water particles into the air, and a plurality of nucleators for injecting ice particles (nuclei) into the spray to provide nucleation sites about the water particles freeze and form snow particles or crystals. Each nucleator comprises discrete nozzles for respectively projecting air and water particles to a location at which they collide in the open air to form ice particles. Because the ice particles are formed "externally" of any housing, the "freeze-up" problem associated with the "internal-mix" nucleators of the prior art is avoided.
