  • Patent number: 5937555
Abstract: An opaque plastic yard sign is formed from translucent outer layers that carry the indicia of the sign. Between the translucent outer layers is an opaque inner layer which is bonded to the two outer sides by lateral seals, and bonded to one of the outer layers by a horizontal bottom heat seal, leaving an opening for insertion of a wire frame. Preferably the liner includes an upper flap to provide added strength and rigidity to the upper portion of the sign. This reduces the overall cost of the sign while at the same time preventing light transmission from one side through the other without the need of coextruded films.

  • Patent number: 5926881
Abstract: A combination carrying case and diaper changing table includes a pair of pivotally joined shell portions which mate in a clam shell fashion to form a hollow carrying case. Each portion includes a pair of side walls and outer and inner end walls therebetween defining a storage space. The shell portions may be opened to expose a cushion to form a diaper changing table. A first section has an outer barrier surrounding its side and outer end walls forming a substantially U-shaped receptacle therebetween. A canopy is collapsibly received within the storage receptacle which may be expanded to form a light or privacy screen. A side rail is secured to the inwardly facing side of each shell portion side wall which may be pivoted to a vertical position when the shell portions are in an open position providing a protective barrier about the diaper changing table.

  • Patent number: 5927317
Abstract: A venting valve assembly for a waterbed having a water compartment is provided. The assembly includes an exhaust port for the water compartment which includes a stem portion, an upper cover threadedly coupled to that stem portion, and a lower cover also coupled to the stem portion. Defined within the stem portion is a valve chamber with which a vent hole through an upper wall of the stem portion and a plurality of through holes in the lower cover are in open communication. The assembly also includes a pontoon disposed within the valve chamber for buoyant displacement responsive to entry of water into that valve chamber. The pontoon is formed with a substantially hollow body to which a resilient plug cover is coupled, and on which a plurality of outwardly protruding strips are formed. As water from the waterbed's water compartment enters the valve chamber, the pontoon is displaced buoyantly upward until the resilient plug cover engages the vent hole.

  • Patent number: 5926883
Abstract: The present invention details a pressurizable mattress. The mattress has at least one inflatable cushion having a pair of sides, and at least one set of an electromagnetic energy emitting device and an electromagnetic energy receiving device. The electromagnetic energy emitting device, when operating, illuminates the interior of the inflatable cushion. The electromagnetic energy receiving device collects the illuminating energy. The operation of the mattress requires a means for measuring the optical aperture of the inflatable cushion. The measuring means determines the optical aperture of the inflatable cushion by measuring the quantity of illuminating energy collected by the electromagnetic energy receiving device when the electromagnetic energy emitting device illuminates the interior of the inflatable cushion.
