  • Patent number: 6095364
Abstract: A unitary child-resistant closure for pill containers, comprises a substantially rectangular base having an opening therein. A first fixed cover portion overlies more than 50% of the opening. There is a moveable closure member, and a hinge--usually, a living hinge--connecting the moveable closure member to the rectangular base. The moveable closure member has first and second major surfaces, which are its upper surface and lower surface when the moveable closure member is in its operative closure position. A camming member is upstanding from the second major surface of the moveable closure member at a first end thereof, and presents a sliding cam surface which is sloped in a direction towards the second major surface and away from the hinge.

  • Patent number: 6085935
Abstract: A pressure vessel which includes a door operating apparatus which enables a door to the pressure vessel to be moved between open and closed positions quickly and easily is provided. The door operating apparatus includes a translation rod supported on the pressure vessel for sliding movement relative to the housing of the pressure vessel such that the sliding movement of the translation rod guides the door in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the door opening in the housing between the open and closed positions. The translation rod further being supported on the pressure vessel for pivotal movement with respect to the pressure vessel housing so as to enable the door to pivot about an axis defined by the translation rod into a fully open position.

  • Patent number: 6044994
Abstract: A sealing arrangement is provided having a container neck having a sloped land surface. The sloping land surface is configured to prevent the liner from slipping across the land surface when the cap is applied to the container. The cap has depending downwardly from its inner surface an annular bead positioned relative to the land surface such that, when the cap is applied to the container, the bead extends down into the mouth of the container radially inwardly of the land surface. The land surface, together with the bead, stabilize and stretch the liner upon application of the cap, urging the liner to conform to the land surface. At least one sealing rib depends downwardly from the lower surface of the cap to provide additional sealing force between the liner and the land surface.

  • Patent number: 5971182
Abstract: A container cap with tamper-evident band formed with a detent ring and a tearband, forming a tamper ring. When the cap is installed on the container neck, the detent ring engages an abutment shoulder on the neck to force latch tabs formed on the detent ring to engage a tamper band formed on the cap. Detent tabs formed on the detent ring engage a tamper projection shoulder on the container neck to prevent the detent ring from removal from the container neck when the cap is removed from the container.
