Abstract: An ultrasound flow measuring tube includes an ultrasound transmitter transmitting ultrasound energy toward a reflector in the tube, which reflects the ultrasound energy so that it is reflected from a side of the tube before reaching a second reflector. The second reflector directs the ultrasound energy to an ultrasound receiver. The reflectors direct the ultrasound energy along a spiral path in the tube.
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring the temperature of a flowing fluid in a pipe. The apparatus includes a mechanism for actively testing the flowing fluid with acoustic energy and producing a test signal corresponding to the temperature of the fluid. The testing mechanism is disposed on the outside of the pipe and acoustic energy follows a path through the pipe wall. Additionally, the apparatus includes a signal processing mechanism for determining the temperature of the fluid based on the test signal. The testing mechanism is in communication with the signal processing mechanism.

Abstract: A hydraulic jack assembly is interposed between at least a pair of adjacent sections of the pile, and a hollow center is defined in a central region of the hydraulic jack assembly, thereby allowing communication between adjacent sections of the pile. Thus, concrete can be filled into the shaft without creating any voids, in particular around the hydraulic jack assembly. Therefore, the integrity of the pile is not compromised by the presence of the hydraulic jack assembly, and the testing device in no way detracts from the performance of the pile. The hydraulic jack assembly may consist of an annular arrangement of individual hydraulic jacks or may consist of a single cylinder device defining an annular cylinder chamber between a pair of coaxial, mutually slidable cylinders.
